I spent the weekend playing Franchise mode and perhaps it's burnout of playing that mode year-round for the past 2 releases, but I just wasn't feeling it. I've had the most fun with MLB The Show 20 when playing MTO, so going to dive back into it (believe I have a White Sox season in progress) and have fun. Dynamic Difficulty with Classic pitching, Directional hitting and Auto fielding/Manual throw.

MTO Injuries?

Has anyone had injuries playing MTO? If so, what are your settings? I haven't seen any injuries while playing and looking at my teams stats, it looks like there hasn't been any injuries.

Has anyone carried their MTO over into Franchise?

I did. The no injuries or computer trades thing kind of makes it weird, but it's cool still cause it's a very true experience of the game if that makes sense. I played with the Mets, acquired Kluber and Jason Castro and won 109 games. Had an insane playoff run where I beat the Dodgers in the NLCS in 7 and the Yanks in WS in 7.

I went to start again with the Ridin rosters, but I felt like I just wanted to continue this instead when I went. I had played it a lot and I liked how the stats broke down in terms of subs and stuff. So right now, in May of the 2nd season, playing the first game of every series for the regular season.

I think they're off based on what I saw. It's a very "true game" experience in that it's the core out of package game and works to the ideal settings of every team. Idk if that makes sense but that's how I've kind of looked at it

I carried my Angels MtO over into a Franchise because I found as I was going down the stretch that as much as I liked playing with Albert Pujols and Matt Thaiss, that the team could be THAT much better if I traded for Josh Bell.

So I carried it over and I did.

With a lineup like:

2B Fletcher
RF Goodwin
CF Trout
DH Upton (just won MVP)
3B Rendon
1B Bell
C Castro
SS Swanson
LF Adell

I could have a lot of fun this year...

I sure would like to know how MTO figures out the logic of games. I played as the Mets on all-star difficulty and I won a pivotal game 5 in the NLCS against the Dodgers. I gained a ton of momentum (HUGE fireball) going into game 6 and what does the mode do, it has me trailing 5-2 in the 6th inning with deGROM on the mound. WTF! It simulated that he gave up 5 runs in only 5 innings pitched! Why even have the momentum formula if it's not used properly. At worst, I should've been trailing by maybe 1 run and more likely should've been leading. Anyway, ended up losing game 6, 6-3 and game 7, 5-1, which was all my fault since I played the entire game. Very frustrated to say the least.

I completely agree. Won game two to tie up the World Series and then in Game Three they start me off trailing by 8 runs in the 5th!!! Makes me want to almost just quit the whole freaking thing. Ive played other times where I swear the games are rigged so you have to play a game seven.

Other than that gripe, I really do enjoy the game mode.

I agree. After posting that I decided to play it. Ended up losing 9-4. Next game I start up 1-0 in the 5th and won that game. I start game 5 up 1-0 in the 6th and win that game as well. Now as I'm finishing up game 5, I prepare myself to start game six down at least a couple of runs. However they start me off with a one run lead in the 6th inning as well. About to start this game. Hopefully I can close it out and win my first WS in MTO this year.

This is my 4th attempt with the Cubs. First time I lost in the NLDS to the Mets in 5. Second and third attempts I lost to the Dodgers in game seven of the NLCS. This attempt I beat the Dodgers in six games in the NLCS.

I have a pretty good MTO going with the Indians after a slow start. Neck and neck with Minnesota for the division in September, with 2nd place having a wildcard spot all but locked up (9 or 10 game lead).

I totally flubbed the trade deadline, as I had a couple closers (Kela, Knebel, Yates) and Adam Frazier (utility) targeted but none came up in a trade opportunity in late July. I declined the other deals and never got another chance before the deadline. Really wanted the bullpen help to tag team with Brad Hand and give me some flexibility in how I use them. Luckily the GM finally decided to call up Emmanuel Clase and his 100mph cutter. Wicked stuff, but I need a few more innings to figure out how to harness it.

I picked up Sean Manea earlier in the season and got him a +2 boost so he's rolling along. Haven't pitched with the other starters much aside from finishing off three innings of a no-hitter with Shane Bieber. Looking forward to more chances to use the staff in the postseason.

Considering I was nearly perfect on any moments in the 2nd half of the season with my Twins MtO, then sweeping the ALDS and ALCS, only to be behind 6-2 and then 4-2 in consecutive games in the World Series against the Dodgers after taking Game 1, I tend to agree.

That being said, I overcame my own failures in Game 2 to come back to win Games 3 and 4, setting up a Clinching Opportunity for Game 5. I wanted to start Rich Hill, just because what an incredible story that would be, Rich Hill as the Winning Pitcher in the clincher against his former team. Turns out the CPU thought that Jose Berrios should start the game. Now I'm not one to celebrate a Championship in a mode where I play roughly 20% of the games, but getting inserted into a 0-0 game in the 6th, and carrying the existing No-Hitter all the way through to the finish to win the World Series? Now that is something worth celebrating!

Just finished a heck of a MTO run by the Pirates (on all star).

Won division

Won NLDS in 5 games vs the Mets after being down 2 games to 0.

Won NLCS in 7 games vs Dodgers, almost blew a 3-1 series lead.

Won World Series in 5 games vs Yankees somehow.

Momentum is irrelevant in the postseason from my experience.

Facts, was up 2-0 on the world series and went back home for game 3 and the fireball was as big as it can get and I was down 4-0 in game 3 btm of 6th. LOL

White Sox are headed to the ALCS! Nomar Mazara with the 12th inning walk-off HR to defeat the Yankees 2-1 in Game 5. Chicago faces Houston in the ALCS, while the Dodgers and Mets square off in the NLCS.

Playing on Dynamic Difficulty; hitting is currently at HOF (Directional), while pitching is at All-Star (Classic)

Interesting the more I've played how much my hitting has improved; I was at HOF+ for quite a while until a recent cold stretch bumped me down to HOF. Classic pitching just seems a little off compared with previous years; seeing more pitches miss the mark over the heart of the plate that almost always are destroyed by the CPU.

Pounded Toronto 12-3 in a full game season finale to finish tied with Minnesota at 100-62. Next up is 163 for the division; looks like Carrasco (cold streak) will get the start. Loser will host either Boston or Tampa Bay in the wildcard; they also finished tied at 89-73.

Streaming my AL Central tiebreaker live on Twitch starting now. Carrasco (16-9, 3.79) takes the hill for Cleveland as they host Jake Odorizzi (13-9, 5.08) and the Twins.

No bells and whistles, just baseball. Dynamic difficulty, currently on Legend hitting (gulp) and HOF+ pitching on fast play presentation.

I tried to load one of my MtO saves on a different PS4 than it was created on. I got an error message that if I continue, it would not be authenticated on this console and I would not receive any affinity points.

Anyone know a way around this. Why do I have to play on the original PS4 for the MtO run to be authenticated?
