That is one of my favorite parts about franchise and these rosters. I normally play MLBTS a couple times each week. I usually start to play every other game and sim every other game. I say start to play because some nights I play an inning or 2 then change to CPU vs CPU and let it play out. Sometimes I play the full game, like the other night where I took a perfect game into the 8th inning only to allow a broken bat single with 1 out.

Anyway, when the season ends I try to get everything done up to the start of Spring Training. I try to do most of it in one sitting so I can just keep the roll going when I have my off-season plan. Then I take a 2 week break from The Show and mess around with other games and such. When I come back 2 weeks later I absolutely have the feeling you described above where it's like seeing old friends again. I love that part, and I can only imagine how much greater it will be since I started using Bacon's roster as next season I will be adding players that I don't know and will be new to the organization.

Man do I love this game!!!

I think this is where you notice a difference in how teams are designed in the game. Some teams go super heavy on rookies whereas others draft heavy towards pitching, speed, veterans, etc. My team is about the only team that didn't draft to the Owner's goals, since I had no idea what they were.

I also had a team that drafted 3 pitchers 90+ Overall "A" Potential, but they can hit a ball out of the infield because they used their higher draft picks for the pitchers. Another team has 5 players that are legitimate base stealing threats and are a pain in the butt to play against because almost every baserunner starts on second.

            ***2022 PADRES BASEBALL IS BACK***

            OVERVIEW:
The 2021 season saw the Padres make the playoffs for the first time in a decade. A new GM in 2020 brought a change in culture and with that winning baseball. Pitching and defense have been a hallmark for the last two years ranking at or near the top in multiple categories. Offensively it's another story as the Padres need to improve moving forward they will need to score more to relieve some of the pressure on the pitching staff. If they want to not only make it to the playoffs again but make a serious run at lifting that world series trophy come October offensive production will need to improve.

            PITCHING:
One thing the Padres are good at, it's pitching and that doesn't look like changing in the 2022 season. Lead by back to back Cy Young winner Kole Robertson and All-Star Alec Thigpen, the Padres have one of the most intimidating staff in the league. San Diego added to the already impressive rotation with the off-season signing of Tanner Wood. The 34 year old Wood signed a two year deal in December after spending the previous season in Philadelphia. Greg Dickerson and Michael Money will split duties for the 5th starting and long reliever positions.

The Bullpen remains largely unchanged with the only departure being Tim Pippinger (Nationals) who's contract was not renewed. Veteran closer Train Lucas anchors the bullpen. Hard throwing Christian Torrez (acquired via trade in '21) leads the relief effort. Former starting pitcher Alexzander Starks thrived in his move to the pen last year and garnered the most votes amongst relievers for the All-Star game.

            Projected Pitching:
            (Starters)
            Kole Robertson
            Alec Thigpen
            Tanner Wood
            Joel O'Malley
            Greg Dickerson/Michael Money

            (Bullpen)
            Money/Dickerson
            Christian Torrez
            Buddy Bishop
            Alexzander Starks
            Philip Hester
            Ian Tate
            Josh Spikerman
            Train Lucas

            DEFENSE:
The Swingin’ Friars can flat out play defense and the prowess in the outfield is a great compliment to All-Star pitching staff. Opposing offense will find it hard to get those grounders through the infield with the quartet of Willy Benavides at 3rd, Dylan Netzel at SS, Jackson Gorzelanny at 2B, Dallas Phillips at 1st. Rolando Rodriguez a 9 year vet, will captain the outfield. Rodriguez will have to cover a bit more ground to his right with the departure of journeyman leftfielder D.J. Fader (Blue Jays).

            Projected Defense:
Cole Dyer (LF) Rolando Rodriguez (CF) Percy Hopkins (RF)
Willy Benavides (3B) Dylan Netzel (SS) Jackson Gorzelanny (2B) Dallas Phillips (1B)
            Bruce Greene (C)

            OFFENSE:
If it’s one area San Diego struggles in it’s offensively. Flat out they just lack power and the bats often go cold at the most inopportune times. However there are a few bright spots at the plate coming in the form of Dylan Netzel, Cole Dyer and Percy Hopkins. Netzel fell just shy of the reaching the .300 mark for the second consecutive season racking up a .294 average and 183 hits. At 25 years of age Cole Dyer had the best season of his young career batting .296 and bringing in 33 RBI and 16 SB. One of the few power bats in the lineup veteran Percy Hopkins also had a career year with highs in average, hr, and doubles. (.258, 35, 31 respectively)

            Projected Batting Order:
            • Jackson Gorzelanny
            • Rolando Rodriguez
            • Percy Hopkins
            • Willy Benavides
            • Dallas Phillips
            • Dylan Netzel
            • Bruce Greene
            • Cole Dyer
            • (Interleague games DH duties will be split between Carter Dawkins and DeAndre Davis Jr.)

            BENCH:
Coming off the bench San Diego has options with players able to play multiple positions. A good mix of veterans and young players. At 25 years old DeAndre Davis Jr. will be looking to make his mark as spots will open up in the coming years in the outfield. Shortstop Mickey Johnson is likely to make the 26 man roster as he hopes to make his stay permanent at the major league level.

            Projected Bench:
Carter Dawkins (LF), Angel Perez (3B), DeAndre Davis Jr. (LF) Pedro Pena (C) Mickey Johnson (SS)

            FARM SYSTEM:
The Padres have quite the stable of future big league players in their organization. The most anticipated names being Bo Sparks at first, outfielder Salomon Chappell and starting pitcher Ron Kuwata. At 21 years of age Sparks could find himself on the major league roster by as early as 2023. Outfielder Salomon Chappell, the first round pick of the 2020 draft is still a few years out from the majors but made an impression in his first year of AA ball. Ron Kuwata is one to keep an eye on when pitching but also is no slouch when hitting either.

Baseball is a crazy game. Sometimes it just falls apart. Other times it all clicks. Thats why we love it.

                      STREAMING THIS SATURDAY!

I’ve decided I’m going to keep my tigers franchise off stream and start over with a new team for the streams.

I have decided to go with my hometown team O’s. They are almost unbearable to play with real rosters but thank you Bacon for making them half decent on your set lol.

I am going to go live around noon Saturday with opening day. I’ll post again Saturday with the link to the stream and I hope to see some of you guys there to chat some baseball with me whether it be real or fictional!

Hey now!! I'd say they're the favorites in the AL East! A very nice rounded squad with a couple stars (T.J. Reed Jr. & Ty Alexander) and some nice prospects (Antonio Martinez & Apollo Jackson) on their way. I'm a big fan of the Orioles. Nonetheless, you know I'll be on to watch and will try to hype it a little via Twitter as well.

***Inside the Mind of the Padres GM*** (obviously me breaking the 4th wall)

So I'm pretty sure my 2nd round pick Andre Del Villar (SS) from the 2020 draft is going to be a bust. I knew he was a long shot he was 19 had a slightly higher overall than his potential. Over the course of his first year in AA he decreased but has leveled out at a respectable 72 OVR. In the minor league games I played with him he was terrible and all the simulated games he was equally bad. I had to bench him multiple times as he was "FLAT OUT" bad. Spring Training 2022 he's on the 40 man and looks lost out there. He's got until the end of spring training to show me something or he's on the trading block.

just want to come here to show you some love, sir! appreciate the hard work you put into this roster to make this game so much more enjoyable. I sort of have my own league with completely rebuilt franchises and mixing that with your roster has been awesome. I also inserted my own created team and I am playing as them. Really been a lot of fun. Currently at the end of April.
