I'm excited for things that I think current gen just wasn't capable of doing. Things like revamped player skeletons and models. Multiple uniform templates (jersey styles and pant fits). Expanded uniform slots. Cloth physics. Option to choose mow pattern in the grass. Players w/ their respective team uniforms for the All-Star game. Enhanced day-night transitions. So much potential!

What are everyone's hopes for MLB Next-Gen?
I know MLB 20 is still pretty fresh, and we're likely 6+ months away from anything next-gen related for The Show, but with NBA and Madden giving teasers into next-gen, it's got me thinking on what's possible. I feel like current gen is pretty much tapped out with what it can hold. Hard for me to imagine it being much more than a roster update over the next few years. Would love to hear what others are hoping for as move to the new consoles.

Re: What are everyone's hopes for MLB Next-Gen?
For me its to see quality of life improvements within franchise mode.
* Editable coaches/managers
* Expanded rosters
* Re-done/re-worked scouting system
* Re-done/Re-worked draft
* Expanded stats
* Players wearing team jerseys in all-star game
* Rotating interleague schedules
* New injury system wear injury history follows players
There's more but that is what pops in my head to start.
Gameplay is solid and I expect that to be improved and better on the next-gen consoles as well as sound, animations, player models, etc...
Really looking forward to the advancements this series makes on the next-gen hardware.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

A improved franchise all around. Smarter AI for cpu management.
I will more then likely wait a year before getting a PS5 and MLBTS to make sure bugs are all worked out.Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players

MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.Comment

Players wearing their team uniforms during the all star game.
EA was able to do it with NBA Live on PS3/Xbox 360 and Konami was able to do it with PYS on the PS2...

Re: What are everyone's hopes for MLB Next-Gen?
An image upload ability like in CAW in WWE 2K.
A cumaltive computer stat tracking system for all modes. If I play against the cpu, i wanna see who rakes,sucks, pitches lights out and who gets shelled.

I was going to say the same. I'd like to see expanded stats giving in the lineup screen. Sucks when you get in a game and find out the right fielder you put in the lineup is 2 for 39 against that pitcher. A bonus would be seeing stats for the specific park your at.
I'd also like to see a stat screen similar to nba2k for season awards and what years a player was first team defense or lead the league in rebounds. With numbers and stats meaning more in baseball then arguably any other sport be nice to be able to pull up and see that Anthony Rizzo won a gold glove in '16 '18 & '19 or that the catcher you drafted was in the top five for slugging x amount of years.
Seems like franchise doesn't get as much attention but those small changes would add some life and keep it interesting.Comment

Re: What are everyone's hopes for MLB Next-Gen?
My take is that it'll be 2-3 years before the game will hit it's stride on a new platform. I've seen this movie before a couple of times: more impressive graphics and less features. I'm not singling out MLBTS, all sports games have shown this pattern.
This could hold especially true given that SDS is going to have to do all of the work that will be required to support the Xbox line.Comment

Re: What are everyone's hopes for MLB Next-Gen?
If franchise is not significantly improved I no longer can support the franchise. Mills is currently talking about Madden and talking of speaking with the wallet, it is time to speak the same about the Show.
March to October is NOT a franchise mode, they need to drop that and either fully incorporate it into DD or leave it as is.
Franchise mode has been relatively the same for 9 years. There used to be patches that addressed franchise, when was the last one that even tuned anything for the mode?
