I just looked at the Australian PS store and 154 is for the Jackie Robinson edition. Also looks like there are four versions, 3 for PS5 and 1 for PS4.

All I want is franchise mode to really be overhauled, in a good way. Give us tons of franchise sliders ALA NBA 2K. Give us the ability to change minor league affiliations. Expand the rosters to include (at least) all non-rookie minor leagues. Allow us to upload logos for rebrands. Include more rules like runners on 2nd in extras.

I always struggle with deciding between The Show and OOTP because The Show just doesnt have the franchise depth and customization options to even remotely compete. If they really improve The Show then I will 100% be in.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Arrives on April 20

I know its been talked about and all, but there's really not much else to discuss at the moment as information is still limited, but.....

Last night I played my carryover franchise as I've been doing and it pains me to know that if I make the jump to '21, which in all honesty is likely, that this will be my final season with this carryover. I know I could start fresh in '21 and continue to play '20, but I've never been able to run multiple franchises on the same game. I get so invested in a franchise that it becomes my own little world, sometimes to the point that I'll make reference to a player being on a team that he isn't in real life.

I know, well hopeful, that the "suspension" (i refuse to accept its gone for good) of Y2Y saves is for the betterment of my favorite mode within the game, but when you've played 12 full seasons, playing every pitch of every game from Spring Training to All-Star Games at all 3 levels, to the end of your season whether its the regular season, postseason, or championship, you become extremely attached to your franchise. I've built my roster with the understanding that I need to prepare for now and the long term as I didn't want to sacrifice tomorrow to win today in my franchise, because there was always "next year"

Well now there is no "next year", or at least I don't expect there to be. And it stings and honestly it sucks. I've thought about just stopping for now and finding something else to play until '21 drops but I don't for two reasons:

          1) I don't want to halt my franchise only to realize that '21 isn't for me and then be that many weeks behind in games I could've played

          2) and this is the biggest, I simply don't want to give up my franchise....my team.

Sure this probably seems silly a grown man whining about having to stop playing a video game in a sense, only to play perhaps a better version of it, but here we are, engrossed in silliness. Well over 2,000 games played in this franchise, countless pitches thrown, countless swings taken, countless hours debating on roster moves to make, pouring emotion into games that saw me pumping my fists or cursing as if my real life hung in the balance with what was happening in my virtual world.

Y2Y saves was the greatest innovation to sports gaming, especially baseball due to the number of games, in my personal opinion. And after it being there for years to now be gone, if only for the year, is a bitter pill to swallow and a punch in the gut to recover from.

I'll stop with the rambling here and close out by saying thank you to SDS for giving us this option/feature so that guys such as myself could really challenge our virtual GM self, and I truly hope that this isn't goodbye to Y2Y saves, but rather see you later.

For now, its back to what will likely be the final year, year #13, in my carryover save as the days countdown to April 20th.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

CB, I think you mean April 16th... Collector's edition gets the game 4 days early.

I listened to Down in the dugout's (Ridin and team) latest podcast, they think PS4 and PS5 versions will be totally different games.

If that is true, man I dont know what to think... That would mean a TON of us would be missing out on what PS5 would be offering.

If legit, I think I absolutely need to find a PS5... Although I wasnt ready to do that yet.

Didn't the info drop from the other day say that it will feature cross-play between not only PS/XBox but also between the generations. If that's the case fundamentally it can't be that different. Offline possibly could be slightly different feature wise but a lot would still need to remain the same.

Has anyone from from Sony actually said that roster imports from previous years are even gone? Year-to-year franchise/RTTS files aren't the same as roster/slider sets. Maybe there's hope.

It could be that the gameplay between the generations is identical, but franchise and RttS are completely different on the newer gen. I don’t know how probable that is, it might be wishful thinking on my part.

Damn, if that is indeed true I may need to start looking real hard for a 5.

From what I understand the DD part will be playable between console generations but the franchise mode and RTS will be different per console generation. I would have got it on PS5 if I had one but I'm getting it on Xbox Series X because I want the next gen version and dont want to stick with the PS4 version. Loving the fact that we got crossplatform sharing, wish all sports games would do crossplatform roster sharing and such.
