I think it's going to come down to if roster carryover is still there or not.
If roster carryover is not there and season carryover is not there, they would have to start entirely from scratch. Well maybe give or take if they do part of the minors roster for SDS like last year.
Now I didn't start following the FM roster until 2016 so I am not sure how long it took before year to year carryover started but I would guess it took longer than a month.
If they do it, I can see it taking 2-3 months because they are starting from base one as opposed to transfer and update.Comment

I didn't read the entire 15+ pages, but this part I don't like. I don't understand why there needs to be a difference between simulation and competitive. I can see the difference with casual. So competitive is if I'm batting and I time my swing properly, I'm going to get a hit or homerun regardless if Mike Trout or the 25th man on the Tigers is at the plate, just because I have stick skills and move the plate coverage indicator in the right place. You have to be able to play the game well to win, but I don't want to see anyone hit like Trout just because of stick skills. And this is the online game style. I'd hope that Trout would get more hits if even if I don't get a good swing/plate coverage than the a bench player and that would depend on stick skills anyway.
A perfect release on a jump shot would not result in a basket if the defender blocks the ball.

Speaking theoretically, it could be there on the xbox. It just opens files from the previous game and it would pull nothing up and just be a dead link in the game. Again theoretical. It probably isn't there but they seemed to choose the words specifically saying year to year saves weren't there leaving out roster and sliders.
I am sure it is still enough to make most roster makers hold off until something concrete comes out. No doubt about that.
I think the likely reason it's not there would be if they added attributes or some kind or adjusted roster size. This is likely a reason why carry over saves are gone as well. That's just my perogative though.Funkycorm

I'm worried about RTTS being tied to DD. It feels like it could end up the route that 2k took with MyCareer were attributes are heavily capped to keep the playing field equal in online environments.
As long as we can play RTTS offline with at least the weighted archetypes introduced in recent years, then that's fine. But I'd hate it if we can only have one character model in RTTS and ability caps enforced due to H2H play.
I want to believe SDS won't do this. But you never know, they are just another company in the grand scheme of things."I'm all about that action, boss." - Marshawn Money Lynch

I thought the head of Microsoft said this was only for first party games on Xbox? So I think that would wind up excluding SDS since they were exclusive to Sony until nowPSN: lxl_Porta_lxl
