lol yeah, I dunno anything about xbox. my son was an xbox guy for 15 years before he finally switched to PlayStation. so I've actually bought multiple xboxes and had them in the house but he doesn't have any interest in sports so I never played any of his games

To be fair though, they have more than made up for that with microtransactions and digital sales increase.

There is no need for the price to go up

We all knew carry over saves was gonna stop at some point to enable them to make big changes to the code, this was said the last 2 maybe even 3 years now. Gues now is the time they did it and its also the perfect time with the new consoles out. Not too worries about the full minors roster as we know Ridin works together with SDS since last year so he and the team dont have to start from scratch. Looking forward to the new game, getting it on Xbox Series X since I dont have the PS5 yet and I dont want it on PS4.

Do you not remember last year that ALOT of minors were still missing from the roster? still a lot has to be started from scratch.. the Korean and Japanese's guys were not part of the roster last year There was still a lot missing. and let's not forget we always are missing about 50vet players that didn't play in 2020 that will have to be created players. the good thing is the season would have started so they would have played a MLB game and can be on a early roster update however

Ouch, no yr to yr saves. That's going to rub people the wrong way. Kinda glad I took a few yrs off from the show. The rest of it sounds promising though. Interested to see the new fielding mechanic & what fresh life that could bring into fielding.

Year-to-year saves is a great feature, but I never utilized it, never got past a year in franchise because the lack of attention the game mode gets and in RTTS I can't bring myself to play with MLB-turned-generic players, if I had the ability to edit their appearance then yes I would've used it more.

Nice to see a Padre on the cover, but somehow I'm fully expecting to be underwhelmed with any franchise announcements. Depending on what they reveal will either determine if I buy this year's game or stick with 20.

I dont think they say they've revamped and updated franchise every yerar. I think we've always gotten discouraged that they didnt mention franchise.

For those that are saying no year to year saves are a dealbreaker, how about if customizing seasons are a thing now? Or rotating schedules? Would that bring anybody back?

Could this be what they’re hinting at for changes how you plan for the future of your franchise?

For myself, personally, the one thing that would attract me towards '21 and its "revamp" of franchise would be expanded rosters to say 110+ (26 per MLB, AAA, AA, A level, plus rookie stash)

IMO, until they do this, everything else in Franchise (Scouting, free agency, trades, etc...) will continue to not be able to evolve because the roster limitation hinders those areas respective progress.

Rotating interleague schedules would be nice, but I don't foresee it alone being a selling point that would make me scrap my carryover save to start over.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

As long as the gameplay is still incredible and we are able to play the way we love it (Completely Clean Screen).

                          OF COURSE!!!!!!

But again...I am not getting hyped up. I rather be pleasantly surprised. Like really getting an early christmas present surprised.

                          Time will tell.

I'm not interested in playing a shorter custom seasons to get through more years, rotating inter league sched, deeper scouting, expanded rebranding and playable a-ball would be great additions. No y2y saves though means I'd end up purchasing at least every other year instead.

None of those things would be enough...those are incredibly trivial changes in the grand scheme of things. Even having customized league alignments (with retraction/expansion) would not be enough. They could add in a fresh new scouting interface, player development interface, every bell and whistle you want...and it isn't enough.

It comes down to ONE thing...they HAVE to change the core of the mode. And as CB already said...it comes down to roster expansion. Until THAT is done and all of the mode's systems are calibrated to work well with it, nothing else they do is going to matter. Virtually every "issue" with the current mode boils down to the incredibly limited 90-man rosters.

It's a HUGE "ask"; but until this is done, nothing else they do is going to truly move the needle.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

This may have been mentioned/answered, but I cannot access the blog from work....

If you start a franchise on MLB '21 for the PS4 and then upgrade to the PS5, will the save file from the PS4 transfer to the PS5?

Apologize if been answered/mentioned/or is common knowledge.
