Re: Were we ever told why Real-Time Presentation was removed?

Unfortunately, on the next gen version of the game using Broadcast presentation, the slowest presentation option, the game will still decide when it wants to skip forward. It still skips forward on the majority of foul balls. It skips forward multiple times per half inning if you try to watch the ball simply get thrown back to the pitcher.

I'm pretty disappointed in the presentation. Going off of a pure feel and not tracking anything, it feels as if the game skips forward even more this year than last.

It’s better than in 20 imo. 10 or 15% better to put a number to it. But yeah this is not something they seem interested in continuing; the last time this was a thing was MLB 15? The catcher still can’t finish his throwback to the pitcher without an auto-cut? They don’t care about people who want this.

Frankly I think it’s garbage. I mean why even have outfielders throw the ball back in? Why all these pitcher cutscenes? Either you want the game to reflect the real pace of baseball or you don’t. Dont cheat me out of my batter finishing his practice swing but then leave me on the opposing pitcher’s face for seven seconds.

They’ve got their heads up their butts on this one, sorry I’m just gonna say it that way. I feel that strongly, they have no idea how to properly pace this game for those of us who want the deep chill baseball sim experience and not the slot-machine pitch-pitch-pitch-pitch experience.
      Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

All they have to do is leave the animations in, and if you want to skip something, press x. It's a simple concept.

Right? And they added Hybrid and Fast presentation options (two DIFFERENT options, debuting in different iterations of the game iirc), as well as quick counts, yet another option for the ADHD crowd, batter walk-ups are an on/off option, pitchers can have fast/normal pacing (but they removed slow). Apparently it’s never enough. You have to literally pull out content from “full broadcast” as well. Honestly it’s weird I can’t wrap my head around it.

They need to offer two choices to their customers; real pace or fast pace. They need to offer many other choices too.

I'm sure they can do that. They made a stadium creator.

Exactly that’s the sad thing about it, you can already turn on quick counts, turn off batter walk-ups, and turn on fast presentation and you’ve got what you want. What about us? We go out of our way to turn on “full broadcast” and we get what is ultimately what I’d expect Hybrid to be. We’re left going “what about me?” when it seems everyone else is covered.

Not to mention ppl could just x thru whatever anyway from the very beginning like my mans said.

It was said on the first page of this thread I think that most people press X to skip the majority of cutscenes, so they decided to cut them for us.

It does effect me actually and others because the focus has been working on cutting time off games making it mainstream rather then other things.. people don't get this at all and have the attitude of 'who cares don't play it like that'
To be clear your way of playing the game is the only way that should be focused on by the developers and the only way that should be played by the consumers, since you are the final say in proper Sim Baseball? Got it.

It's not the simple though. If they kept RT in, cool with me, I never used it, but I have no issue with it.

The issue is, if this is something there data tells them people are not taking advantage of (and I have no idea whether that's actually true or not), then why commit resources to maintaining it from release to release?

I posted it, and I didn't state it in support. Even if "most" was everybody but myself, they're shafting me for no reason whatsoever. They have other options to speed up the game, and I get to choose when I want to X through something or not.

I also don't ever remember agreeing to be a part of that telemetry. Maybe it's in a thing in the beginning that I accepted, but I just don't remember. Not saying it's unlawful, but man it's disheartening.

Actually, they have the right mechanic built right into the game. They have Fast Play, Hybrid and Broadcast. Broadcast should mean the full broadcast package with no skipping of cut scenes (other than the 'X' button) and the catcher throws the ball back after EVERY pitch. They used to have this in the game. SDS even marketed the game on that feature. Nothing was taken away and everyone would be happy.

SDS used to be known for not taking things out of its game. They used to be proud of it. And I was proud of them. Man, I miss the good old days of a few years ago.

The HR Camera in particular drives me nuts, and we've been asking to turn it off for years.

Not only that, but the manner in which the option to turn it off was removed was particularly annoying and a sign of things that were to come. At the time, they prided themselves on community feedback, but when it came to the HR cam they received a lot of backlash here, and stubbornly told us all that they were not putting the option back in and as a "compromise" they would reduce the instances of its use to like 25% of all no-doubt home runs. Some of us predicted at the time that number would creep up, and eventually it did.

All people were asking for was to re-include the OPTION. They're answer: tough ****, we like it. Not a good sign.

Then we lost season mode, then online franchise, broadcast mode....
