FYI, signatures don't appear if you're on Tapatalk, at least for me. Not sure if the guy is on Tapatalk or not, but it could be useful info someday.

This is where im getting at. They are spending time on a seperate mode when they dont have too. MTO can just be part of franchise.Comment

Because MTO is tied to Team Affinity in DD.

I never really played season mode but it was a nice option for people who wanted to do that.
I do know that season mode would go for multiple years so it also worked for those that wanted to control their MLB team and their top 15 prospects and not worry about injury management on 3 levels and resigning 90 players every year or years depending.
I understand why they took it out but it stinks for those that enjoyed it.Funkycorm

It is because a lot of the classic 25 man rosters don't mesh well multiple years down the road and there was less chance of fake players being called up. Or they don't mesh well using a full 90 man.

For record......the easiest way to play a 25 man classic roster in franchise is turning on CPU roster control and doing 30 team control to set proper lineups. Yes there are no injuries.....but when your playing a 1 season replay you want to play it with all the prime players anyway.
But yes. Agree 100% Season mode was great for classic rosters. Also being able to do shorter seasons etc etc etc.
Shame it was ditched for MTO. Not that MTO is a bad mode. I just have not been able to get into it at all.Now Playing on PS5:

I always just created a new profile, set injuries to manual, then all the scouting and such to auto and played that way. That way I could add an injury to match real life or the Braves pitching staff for the world series. You know the usual... Lol...give my Indians an edge.Funkycorm

How would it being an optional part of franchise save dev time? All we're talking about is a different way of accessing the same mode, right?Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Franchise Mode and March to October Details From Feature Premiere
I'm a bit disappointed that the fast track option for prospects appears to be unique to MTO. Adding that to franchise mode would go a long way toward addressing some of my personal complaints with the game.
As some others have noted, the existing potential/progression system is pretty predictable. You can generally tell just by looking at the results after the draft which players have a future and which ones will remain useless for the MLB team. If the fast track option works as I've seen it described, then you could theoretically have a mostly linear system that also has a few outliers, which I'd be absolutely fine with.
Something about a 61 OVR, C potential prospect having a hot month, then getting called up in August, then being just ... fine for the rest of the season, thus carving out a long but mostly unremarkable career as a mid-70s replacement-level player sounds enjoyable to me. Typically, that 61 OVR, C potential guy would stay mired in the minors until his late 20s before he's even a useful backup, which means he's not actually useful for anything at all. If the FTO feature changed that, I'd be all in.
(More likely, it would only apply to top prospects, but still, that's an improvement if it means the 50 OVR, A potential draftee is useful before he's 27 years old.)Comment
