You are right, however it doesn't seem that all the classic and fictional rosters can be transferred.
This means the creators have to start all over again, if they even have a ps5.

I think the “I’m glad they have something “ is a little harsh. For a first year introduction stadium creator is more robust than anyone had expected.

You're misunderstanding the point of what I meant.

I'm not saying it's not ready or good, I'm just saying I hope this isn't a feature where they tell themselves: "Welp folks, it's a finished product! This won't need to be touched anymore, and this is something that players can use for years to come without anything needing to be added/addressed. We've devoted our time to it, it's paid off, and fans will/won't use it for years to come regardless, so why spend more time with it?"

Basically, I believe it's still it's in its infancy. It's fully formed and functional, but just not fully realized yet. And while I don't actually think massive resources put a UFO in the mode before looking to other things, I do hope they've been considering those "other things" long before the UFO was put in there, which does not add to the "robustness" of the feature.

Man it sucks. For the first time I feel zero excitement about a release of a new baseball game... I even have a PS5. Stadium creator is good and all, but it’s not enough to move the needle for me at all.

As a franchise mode player I ask myself why should I even buy the new game at full price when they hardly added anything different. I can play with great rosters for 2021 season on MLB 20 and with it being on PS5 it looks beautiful anyway.

            this is how i feel

from watching the videos of the game in action it does show "some" stadium fixes to grass and dirt color and then the fact that giants stadium has the levis spoinsorship...

the stadium creator is really for minor league ballpark creations which i hope the community does and then there's the classic stadiums but im wonder JUST HOW we'll be able to get old school 1980 and 890adboards and sponsors in to really make them look authentic?

The game is expensive this year. The fact that the game is releasing 3 weeks after its released the past several years and has a "early bird" special priced at 85 plus tax makes it almost a 90 dollar game. even waiting 5 days to play it is still like 70 and tax.

IF this game got the graphically treatment that nba 2k21 did we would have been much more excited for it, now its just a "I want to play it to see what they DID add graphically" kind of anticipation...

As a franchise player I am fine with whatever iterative gameplay improvements are made. The Show is already great on the field. My only gameplay gripe is outfielders bobbling too many plays with auto fielding. I'm good with everything else. My biggest thing is immersion and presentation with the Show (Madden and 2K as well). I think I'll enjoy stadium creator for Spring Training. I play every spring training game in different minor league and old parks.

After tax, the disc version is $74. That's not expensive. It's cheaper, when factoring in inflation, than PS2 launch games.

Madden isn't a Mercedes. Madden is more like a Jeep. Costs a lot, is marketed like it's high quality, but will spend more time getting fixed than driven.

Do we have any proper (full game) gameplay at this point somewhere? Normally we had a bunch of real gameplay videos around this time.

I just don’t understand the gripe when a company implements a brand new feature just because they didn’t also add in x,y,z other features along the way. That’s all. Hey if it saves you a few bucks then so be it.
They are also removing one of the biggest features in the game - year-to-year saves. That, alone for me is the reason I am passing on this game and likely future games from SDS. Additional features are nice but removing Y2Y saves is just a tough pill to swallow for me.

Hopefully Stadium Creator gets some additions patched in as the season progresses (props, backgrounds, etc)

Slightly off-topic, but since this thread has a lot of talk about reasons to be excited (or not) about the new game, how about the new pitching mechanics? For me, this is easily the number one reason to buy 21 over 20. I know a lot of people are going to stick with whichever method they already use, but I'm excited to learn a new system, and honestly, it looks like it's more engaging than any of the current pitching mechanics.

Obviously, since it's in all versions, it's not a reason to buy next-gen over current, but I think pin point pitching is being slept on for what it could potentially bring to the game.

I've used it, like it, and will continue to use it down the line. There is something about The Show's pitching, hitting, and fielding with analog sticks that miss some of the engaged intuitiveness that 2K and MVP had (and I can't explain it really), but it's fun and seems to have a steep mastery curve to it. I was really happy to be walking people, if that makes sense.

I'd argue that Stadium Creator does improve those modes by making them more realistic and immersive. There are tons of very creative people out there. They will create literally every minor league stadium, spring training stadium, classic stadium, and potential future stadium you can think of. And they will all be available through the vault.

Playing a franchise 10 years down the line? Looks like the As and Rays have new stadiums. Classic rosters? Heres Ebbetts Field and Baker Bowl. Playing RTTS? Play in your AA team's real park. Hell, spring training just got more interesting because I can play in Tempe Diablo Stadium.

I don't see how this huge feature is seen as a disappointment. You don't even need to be creative or sink a bunch of time into it to reap its benefits. It has the potential to improve nearly every part of the game.
the fact that i can create a stadium for my custom team and not have to use a minor league ballpark is a huge deal for me. i'm so excited for stadium creator to actually be able to feel invested in custom teams. no longer have to host a playoff game in front of 11,000 people tops
