Most people over in the Madden forum who own a next gen system and have actually played Madden next generation have praised it for it’s player movement saying it adds an entirely new element of realism to the game that’s just not there on the current gen systems .

Most of the complaints are just like the ones in the MLB The Show forum, are just about graphics.

Graphics this and graphics that. Most of the people complaining about the graphics don’t even own a next generation system so I’m really not sure WHY there’s so many damn complaints about the graphics when they look absolutely beautiful.

Now, the guys who are holding out on purchasing because of a lack of franchise mode improvements or, next generation “features” I totally get and they have every right to feel that way.

Hell, even the guys who are complaining about graphics have a right to feel that way, I just don’t understand it.

I agree with the above. The difference between graphics and player movements or improvement is what I’d like to see. SDS is visually appealing and Graphic wise I could be critical but it is really not the Maine issue for me.

I love the Stadium creator as I have mentioned but again enhance other things such as created uniforms to complete the overall immersion of a new team with the new ballpark.

Also some different animations in the outfield...catches ..sliding...
Also at bat, some subtle changes in movement in the box by batters ...leaning away ..ducking back from inside pitches..

More Roster options as far as saves ect, carry overs

All in all I’m pleased with SDS, and I’m looking forward to the new game ( don’t expect many changes) I’ve already pre- ordered Jackie Robinson I have my Ps5 so we will see...

I bought a PS5 last month just for the Show. With how immersive the stadium creator is(and the fact that you can use it in RttS), I'm stoked about this game. The previous versions have all played really well in-game(despite the insane nitpicking that goes on here) and with the inevitable graphics upgrade, this is a must-buy at $70. We're only a $20 bill difference in price between this game and NCAA Football 2002 on PS2 on launch day. I won't post the screenshot comparison but some of you aren't true sports gamers and it shows.

I’m such a huge baseball fan that I buy the game regardless because I enjoy playing it online with my friends.

And of course there are gonna be many other improvements to the game. No huge groundbreaking improvements, well except for stadium creator, which is long overdue and something we've been asking for forever.

I think people are taking the new outfield play for granted. It could be a game changer. Also improvements to hitting, tons of new animations. But I understand if you don't wanna spend your money on it.

I guess maybe it's the whole I want this, and then you get it but aren't happy with it because it didn't fit your exact vision.

It's a feature I will use exactly 0 times, so that's the reason I am not excited about it and disappointed that it's essentially the only "next gen" selling point.

I realize plenty of folks have requested it for years and I'm happy for them, but there are also plenty of other folks who didn't request it and therefore couldn't care less about it personally.

              See this is the kind of thing I just don't understand. Probably the two BIGGEST things people have asked for for nearly a decade (or more in case 2) are;
              1. Stadium Creator

              2. bring the game to Xbox

So both are done YEAR ONE of next gen and some people are saying "you know i have a right to be disappointed.' Seriously? How many features, not improvements to features already in the game, do you expect to be implemented to a game in year one of a new system? Year ONE. I've bought this game nearly every year for playstation and even I can see how big of a deal this year's game is just for stadium creator let alone the fact that so many people that never had the game now can actually have the game. Hell, I even bought it for the Series X this year even though I also have a ps5 just so i can see the difference.

I swear, these companies can't win. You get a good company that actually listens and improves a game every year and it still gets met as if this were EA or some other company that literally mails it in every year with roster patches only.

The gaming industry is bigger than the movie industry, the streaming industry, and music industry combined. I’m really not trying to hear this “oh won’t someone think of these nice developers” anymore tbh.
                Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

Excellent point. The developers (who also are given marching orders) have given us stellar gameplay and are to be commended for the response to many of our requests. Although I don’t do anything other than play one year at a time in franchise mode (and I don’t even touch the other stuff) this game is loaded with so much stuff.

Forgive me for not being excited about a feature I'll never use.

I've always been a huge SDS fan and still am so you don't have to go on about how they can't win in response to my post. I love the gameplay and will continue to do so. I just simply answered the question as to why I'm not excited about this feature. Just being honest. Sorry if that ruffled your feathers.

So I'm not one of the people saying they shouldn't have put time and effort into Stadium Creator when they could have done whatever, but I also don't see myself doing much with it personally. It has nothing to do with how well it's implemented in the game, it's just not my thing. Which is fine, I don't expect every aspect to apeal to me. I can totally see how this being the major feature is disappointing to people.

Also, while I do think it's a positive thing that the game is more widely available, again it doesn't make much of a difference to someone who is getting the game on Playstation either way.

Nah, didn’t ruffle my feathers at all. I just don’t get the gripe. I don’t play diamond dynasty or even road to the show that much. Not every feature is for every person. I just don’t understand the gripe when a company implements a brand new feature just because they didn’t also add in x,y,z other features along the way. That’s all. Hey if it saves you a few bucks then so be it.

Big picture though. Game in the hands of more people opens it up to a wider audience. That helps the studio overall anyway for future releases.year one of new gen consoles traditionally haven’t been mind blowing anyway. I think we are forgetting that. Having this cross platform and this extremely asked for feature is a pretty big leap to me.

I'm not one who will use Create a Stadium for building anything bc I'm not creative in that department. I may dabble a little bit but I won't spend alot of time in it. I am still super excited for this feature though bc I sure as hell am going to download a bunch of stadiums you all decide to create. I'm excited for it!

It is possible to also acknowledge that the Stadium Creator is a nice new feature, but also acknowledge that other areas wre neglected. You don't have to be 100% happy or 100% disappointed.

I'm beyond glad the game is on GamePass/Xbox now. I'm excited to create some stadiums. I'm disappointed in how franchise mode got a new UI and some logic tuning and nothing more. I'm excited to see the improvements to the on field gameplay, I hate that the off field gameplay is once again neglected for the most part.

The Show already plays amazing on the field and I could live without that even being touched this year. The off field franchise gameplay is pretty poor and it didn't really see any changes outside of some small logic changes. To me, 21 is not a big upgrade over 20 for that reason and it is why I wasn't going to buy the game, but since it'll be on GamePass I'll be playing it since I already sub to GamePass. While I can acknowledge how big of an addition Stadium Creator is, i can also acknowledge how little franchise was touched. I think if everyone could acknowledge that and understand where the franchise only people are coming from they'd understand the disappointment you're seeing around the internet with this game.

^ This exactly... I just don't understand how you can sell this game as next-gen when 'stadium-creator' is 99% of it...I understand the main 2 takeaways for 2021 are:

                                1. Game is now on XBOX
                                2. Stadium-creator in-game

It's just a bit disappointing that these devs have had their hands on the next-gen hardware for quite some time and this is all they could come up with; albeit, there isn't much pressure from any competitors (RBI Baseball isn't even in the same breath).

And yes, some of us are graphics-whores / )

Player models & player movement need an overhaul in my opinion...hoping it is in the framework down the line as SDS continues to push the new consoles to their max. I'll be interested to see the comparisons between the PS4 Pro and the PS5 (XBX).
Currently playing on PS5 & XBOX SERIES X:
