Ps4 has SOFTS ps5 doesn’t makes no sense to me how you downgrade into a next Gen system makes no sense at all .. I just got blocked also by Ramone crazy.

It is absurd they are blocking their gamer base for asking questions.

They are more worried about a stupid puppet than getting actual answers to the gamers that have supported them year after year.

SDS blocking people for asking about this proves they’re not the studio they used to be.

I’m just dumbfounded by this. What is happening here? We always used to be able to rely on them to be such a good studio, that put out a reliably good game year in and year out, introducing truly unique features like SOTS and revolutionary features like Y2Y saves, and most importantly, actually listen to their fan base and actively engage with them.

Losing Y2Y was enough for me to be out on ‘21. This sort of behavior and sudden change in everything that used to be positives for this game and studio make me question how much I want to support them in future installments as well. Ultimately I’ll probably wind up buying future editions simply because of my love of baseball, but my goodness ... what a disappointing turn of events and complete 180 by the devs. Such a shame.

Its the same thing that happened when the NHL series went to PS4/XB1. Basically tore the game apart and started from scratch. It doesnt look like The Show was as drastic as NHL was, but still not good.



PS3/360 really looking like the best console for sports games ever. Again IMO

This was the best feature in NHL 12-14...being able to import real goal horns and music was the single best thing of my gaming life, considering most sounds are not accurate on the NHL games.

When this feature was removed, it was an absolute dagger. And with SOTS gone (forever?...because who’s to say that since XBOX is in the mix now, it’ll be gone forever...they usually don’t have an mp3 import feature) it’s another massive dagger in my gaming heart.

It’s the immersion that always keeps me coming back. It’s the true-to-life atmosphere that I can single handidly great.

All of that, gone. MLBTS20 on PS5 it is.

That's definitely the concern, especially with them being so quiet on it. Last time they were out front and honest about it. This time to just silently remove a beloved feature definitely makes you believe it won't be coming back next year. I really hope I'm wrong.

But the fact you can send them a question about it on Twitter and end up being blocked by them isn't a great sign at all.

Just ridiculous. Own up to it, don’t hide. Just another ‘21 kick in the backside to long time loyal supportive fans and supporters. Of which I used to include myself. Not anymore.

I'm still betting that this was not their decision. If the PS4 version of SOTS works fine on the PS5 then I can think of no logical reason to remove it other than some restriction that Sony has put in place for the PS5 and it's games. The PS4 version working on the PS5 is probably a loophole.

And if that is the case then SDS is probably not allowed to discuss it.

It sucks that it has been removed but I don't think SDS did it simply to spite the next gen players.

Not their decision or not. Why Hide it? Why not tell us about it? Why are people getting blocked for asking about it? This is an odd release of this year’s game...

We have to realize that they are marketing the game right now. That means putting all the good stuff in the streams and videos and burying the negative stuff in FAQs. The streams are not like streams in the past. These are pre-recorded promotional videos.

I’m so glad I’m a Xbox Game pass member and don’t have to pay for this game because this is a tough pill to swallow. Stadium creator is a huge plus for those customization heads. SOTS was such an epic feature that made this game so immersive. It’ll be missed but I’m hopeful it’ll return next year. However once NHL dropped arena/goal music it has never returned.

You might not be, but I will. It's Ramone's personal account - he, like everyone here, is free to block anyone for any reason he wants or no reason at all. Personally I'd just mute people so they don't get the "I was blocked!" badge of honor but it is what it is.

I have a different opinion on blocking in regards to any of the official game accounts, but personal ones? Meh.

Here’s something I’ve been mowing over...

If I get the PS4 version of 21 and play that on my PS5, will I be able to use SOTS? (It’s more so a rhetorical question as I know no one will know until 12amPST tonight.

Only thing here is, the FAQ states, “players will not be able to upload your own music on next gen consoles”. So maybe the PS4 version (on PS5) won’t even allow SOTS like some people had hoped.

Welp, time to go rip my hair out and then get back to hearing “Go Cubs Go” when I win a game in my MLBTS20 chise at Wrigley Field. There’s nothing quite like it.

The thing with the parity argument is, SOTS is still available in the PS4 version...if MLB demanded like-for-like across the board then why’s it still on the PS4?

For me, it raises the question that if SOTS can be in the PS4 version, then why can't Y2Y saves be in the PS4 version? To me, that's where the "parity" reason breaks down.

The including this, but not that on the PS4 version along with the FAQ "announcement" all seems to point towards that they were worried about PS5 sales. They know if Y2Y saves AND SOTS were both in the PS4 version, then they'd be relying on Build-a-Stadium to carry PS5 sales.

Like said already, this just seems dirty all the way around. If they had come out and been honest, people wouldn't be this upset. Disappointed? Sure, but that wouldn't have lost them as many sales as trying to hide it so late.

I almost said the same thing in my message but it is not as clear for me here. I have actually never seen Ramone post much of anything other than MLB: The Show and Sony related posts. He does not post personal stuff there (and I don't blame him) so it comes very close to a company acct.

I still think Y2Y saves being gone more because of the changes in RTTS. That does not explain Franchise though.
