Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
It's so bad that I went into the options and turned the runner window off. I can't look at those N64 graphics in 2021.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
So am I the only person that is having the power swing not always registering a swing? Happened last year on PS4 Pro and this year on Series X so it's not my controller.Comment

Back in the day you felt a small rumble when pressing square for powerswing or circle for contact swing. I never understood why they removed that."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

It's still there. I feel the rumble on PS5. Guess it depends on your settings.Comment

Overall, it's a great game. Love the pitching this year.
Graphically, it's not that impressive on ps5.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
The same problems plague this game as it has the past 4-5 years. It's why i stopped buying and went to strictly OOTP.
This is in RTTS.
- I should never start as a 76 OVR 3rd basemen on the Padres over Manny Machado. Ever. Not in a million years.
- A hitter 3rd in the lineup should never freaking get the call to bunt from the manager. I don't care what situation it is. A hitter in the 3 hole should never be asked to bunt. He should ALWAYS be hitting. If he's not good enough to hit then he shouldnt be in the 3 hole. Period.
- The check swings this year are ridiculous. Only to find out that it's because of how ONLINE players complained about it last year, so that's why SDS made it stupid this year. Once again, priorities are garbage this year. Online online online online online.
- I feel like the game just rolls the dice on errors and just says "hmm we haven't had a fielding error in a while...let's pick Manny Machado and made him overthrow 1st base by a MILE on a simple out. Probably the best 3rd baseman FIELDER in the game right now.
- The umpire strike calling is so random it's actually amusing. I can appreciate different umps calling strikes/balls in different areas and they have their tendencies, but in MLB 21 The Show it's so incredibly random that it doesn't make a lick of sense.
- As a pitcher in RTTS, there are some situations and some hitters that you just can't strike out, which is fine. But getting hit for Home Runs when a pitch is purposely thrown way out of the zone is a bit ridiculous. This one is kinda sketchy as I know things happen, but I know for a fact that hitting home run on a dipping sinker ball is a work of art, and when I see a pitcher hit one on me, I can only just shake my head.
That's all for now.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
Just finished a pitcher's duel between Jack Flaherty and Blake Snell. Neither pitcher would factor into the decision:
Jack Flaherty - 7 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 BB, 13 K
Blake Snell - 7 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 14 K
It was both enjoyable and frustrating at the same time
Helps that I won 3-1I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
Yeah me and the CPU have been totally hosed by the umpires in many games so far on balls and strikes. Fun stuff, you just don't know if you will get the call for sure. The expressions when it happens by the pitcher are priceless too (eye rolls, etc)Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Impressions Thread
So I'm playing my Tigers franchise and I noticed that the ticker at the bottom of the screen is showing league pitching leaders in wins, ERA, etc..... Is that new? I know last year the ticker would show game scores but I don't remember it ever showing this kind of stuff. It is really cool.
