    12-2 W (Mahle 2-2; Wood 1-2)

After Cueto was dominant the first game my oh my how the offense FINALLY came alive. Scoring 12 runs each of the next two games. We hit 9 HR in those two games. The wind played a factor in both games to help. I hit probably three of my most impressive HR in my MLBTS playing career lol. 460ft shot by someone I can't remember now. Which was topped by a 462ft HR by Saurez next game. Aquino hit a 450ft blast CF that landed up in the river boat deck...never seen that before! And the bat sounds on MLB 20 sound so crisp and beautiful when I hit those moon shots.

Jesse Winker on the 10 day IL was a blessing as Max Shcrock was brought up from AAA. He has speed we need so badly and he came up and had 3 hits and 2rbis the third game game of the series.

Now I have decided to put India down into AAA when Winker returns. India has hit a woeful .085 this season to start his MLB career. 47ab as well so I will have Schrock up as his replacement.

We are now 12-6 and 2.5gms up on the 10-9 Cubs in 2nd place.

Up next is a trip to NY to face the Yankees! Crazy enough, the Yankees are struggling just like real life. They sit last in the AL East with an 8-11 record. Only 2.5gb however in a super tight division. Some great pitching matchups ahead in this series.

Reds stay hot in New York!

    1-3 L (Hoffman 0-1; Cessa 2-2; Chapman S,3)
    5-4 W (Garcia 2-0; Britton 0-1; Garrett S, 7)
    6-3 W (Fulmer 1-1; Lustre 0-1; Garrett S, 8)

Gerrit Cole in game two was very good but twice their bullpen blew it. Reds had to come back in the 2nd and 3rd games of the series to win both in extra innings. Aquino was the hero in game 3 with a 10th inning 3 run homer.

The depth in the OF is so good for Cincinnati. Aquino was only playing cause Castellanos needed a day off. Winker coming back from injury soon as well. If we stay mostly healthy it will be difficult to get at bats for a couple of my outfielders.

We haven't lost a series yet, taking two of three every series so far. Including the short two game series sweep of Milwaukee. Up next for us is a road trip to face the Cardinals. Reds looking good increasing the division lead up to 3.5 games up now with a 14-7 record.

Cardinals sit dead last in the division. Matter of fact they have the worst record in baseball with a 5-17 record and way behind already 9.5gb from first place.

And oh boy the news for the Cardinals gets worse. Simulated the game for injuries and Dylan Carlson tears his ACL and is out for the season. For me, the Reds had India with a minor day to day injury I will have to create. India was on his way down as soon as Winker came back anyway so this will give Schrock and even Mike Freeman some more at bats for a few games or so.

Cards take series from Nationals...Lose Yadi

The Cardinals (6-6) took 2 out of 3 from the Nationals in Busch Stadium to start the week, but suffered another blow as Yadier Molina was injured in the series finale due to a broken hand. Molina tried to make a diving catch on a foul ball near the wall and crashed into the wall suffering the injury. Molina is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

The Cardinals won the series opener on Monday as the offense exploded for 9 runs on 17 hits including 4 homeruns. Miles Mikolas was just as impressive going 7 2/3 innings allowing just 1 run while scattering 7 hits and striking out 4.

Game 2 saw the bats fall deaf as the Cardinals were nearly no-hit by Max Scherzer. Paul Goldschmidt extended his hitting streak to 11 games by breaking up the no-hit bid in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs. Paul DeJong would ground out afterwards to end the threat as the Cards fell 3-0.

The series finale on Wednesday saw Adam Wainwright (1-2) get his first win of the year by going 6 strong innings striking out 7 on the way to victory. He gave up one run on 5 hits. Paul Goldschmidt extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a 3 run bomb in the 4th off of Strasburg to break the scoreless tie. The Cards would go on to win 5-1.

The Cardinals are off on Thursday as they travel to Philadelphia for a 3 game weekend series with the Phillies.

Yadier Molina to 10 Day IL with broken hand

Yadier Molina suffered a broken hand in the 7th inning of Wednesday's series finale. Molina suffered the injury trying to make a diving catch on a pop foul by Juan Soto, but crashed against the wall suffering the injury. Molina will likely miss 6-8 weeks.

Tyler Heineman was recalled from Memphis to fill the roster vacancy.

Paul Goldschmidt extends hitting streak to 12 games

Paul Goldschmidt has hit safely in each of the Cardinals 12 games this season. Goldy is hitting .396 on the year with 5 homeruns and 11 RBI's. He will look to continue his hot streak this weekend in Philadelphia.

I spent all winter saying I was sticking with 20, but so far I'm really happy I picked up 21.

In addition to what CB mentioned in terms of contracts and CPU teams making moves, the game just feels more refined and polished to me. I'm only two games into my franchise, but offense seems to be toned down a bit and the CPU seems to be a bit better on default All-Star.

I've seen the complaints about bat sounds. Is that a PS5 thing? Because they sound fine to me on the PS4.

I’m 4 games into my Phillies franchise and have seen my budget surplus fluctuate from positive to negative and back to positive. Does anyone know what caused that?

Team performance. If you're winning, you draw more fans and get more money.

I had $22M or so and the Phillies took two out of three from me to open the season, so now I'm projected to only have $7M.

I kinda figured that because I started 0-2 and now I’m 2-2. I was just surprised by the amount because it was about a 10 to 12 million swing.

So on the advice of you all I grabbed it. Definitely seems to be "the same" as 20 but with minor tweaks. So overall it's decent.

As for budget, I've always played with it off as it made it easier for the cpu to sign FA. However with them actually doing it this year may play with budget on for a bit of a challenge. I haven't dug into it yet, but I heard they "dumbed it back down" which is great if they did haha.

Can you (or anyone for that matter) speak on that)??

I turned budget off, but I'll hold myself to my budget. I know it's supposed to be better this year, but I decided to play it safe.

My guess is it fluctuates a lot early in the season. Once you play more games and your place in the standings stabilizes a bit, the budget should as well. I won to get back to .500 and my budget went up $10M.

I understood what they were going for with the weekly budget, but it got confusing. I think 18 was the last time I had budget on. I tried to trade for Arenando and it told me I didn't have enough room in my budget for him. So I traded the same package I had offered for Arenando to the Tigers for Castellano and two other players. Then I flipped all three of those players to the Rockies for Arenando with no problem. The end result was the same salary-wise for me, so I don't know why the first trade was rejected.

And Albies hit a two-run homer in the 11th to lift the Braves past the Nats, 5-3. We're back at .500 at 2-2 on the young season.

Another series win @ St Louis as we shut down their offense. During the 3rd game the team stat popped up for the Cardinals showing how bad they have been offensively. They are dead last in runs scored per game.

                              @ Cardinals series:

                              1-4 L (Castillo 3-1; Mikolas 3-2; Gallegos S,4)
                              9-2 W (Mahle 3-2; Martinez 0-3)
                              6-2 W (Lorenzen 3-1; Wainwright 0-3)

Up next is a 3 game set vs Arizona for our first matchup in the season. They are a modest 11-14 but on a three game losing streak. The Dodgers have gone 8-2 in their last 10 after a 7-9 start. They now lead the division and most likely will run away with it soon.

                              Game 1: Miley 3.65era vs Bumgarner 3.44era

                              Game 2: Gray 2.67era vs Gallen 4.50era

                              Game 3: Castillo 3.81era vs Weaver 3.48era

After debating for literally a week I’ve decided on the Seattle Mariners this season for my franchise. Not a very good team but do have A LOT of nice young pieces. Nice stadium. Nice uniforms. Cant wait! Hope everybody is enjoying this years game as much as I am.
