Quick question about franchise. If I start it with DH set to default, can I turn it on after year 1? Or are you stuck with whatever option you go with at setup?

You are stuck with whatever you decide on that screen. Same with the runner on 2nd rule.

Pretty certain what you select at the start is permanent.

Cards struggles continue in San Diego

The Cardinals (21-20) continue to struggle putting any type of winning streak together, or a string of winning series together, as they drop 2 of 3 to the Padres in San Diego over the weekend.

The Cardinals lost the series opener Friday 3-1 after a Manny Machado 2 run homerun in the 7th put the Friars up 3-1 and securing the victory. The Cardinals bats were completely vacant from the game putting together a solo run on just 2 hits.

On Saturday the bats were a bit better, but Mikolas once again struggled to put any consistency together giving up 6 runs on 7 hits over 5 innings of work. The Cards would fight back but lose 7-4 when all was said and done.

Sunday's finale saw a premier pitching matchup between Jack Flaherty and Blake Snell. Both pitched 7 innings with double digit strikeouts and zero runs on the board. The Cards would prevail in the 8th when Paul DeJong hit a 2 run blast to make the score 2-0. Padres would get one back in bottom half when Tommy Pham hit a solo homerun. In the 9th, Tyler O'Neill would put one more on the board with a solo shot thus putting the Cards up 3-1. Alex Reyes would close things out for his 11th save in as many opportunities striking out Tats, Machado, and Myers.

The Cards are off tomorrow before starting a brief 2 game mid-week series with the Pirates. Adam Wainwright will get the ball on Tuesday and Carlos Martinez will get the ball Wednesday.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

That's what I was thinking. Oh well. Guess I'll turn the DH on from the start then

              Vintage Wainwright, Cards win 6-0

St. Louis, MO--It was only fitting that Adam Wainwright would get the start in Thursday's home opener along side his longtime battery mate Yadier Molina. Uncle Charlie was phenomenal on the mound as he blanked the Brewers 6-0. Wainwright pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings earning his first win of the season while scattering just 5 hits and striking out 4.

Tyler O'Neill got things started in the bottom of the 1st inning with a 2 run HR

Dylan Carlson extends Cardinals lead to 4-0 in the 4th

              ---------------------------------------------------------

Dylan Carlson entered Thursday's game as the Cardinals hottest hitter, batting over .400 on the season. He continued that hot streak on Thursday going 3-for-4 with a HR and 2 RBI. The rookie has 3 HR so far in 2021 .

Upside from this year was the consistency of the hitting and some great pitching performances. Downside was the inconsistency of the starters and some rough bullpen. Hoping to build on this year and turn it into a more competitive year next.

Going into the offseason I'll be looking to bring back most of the team and adding some pitching. Maybe a middle of the order power bat and a possible anchor in the rotation.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Franchise Discussion Thread

Well I just played the worst game of my MLBTS career. Game one of the four game set @ Colorado for the Reds.

I'm just going to let the photos do justice. But here are a few things.

Rockies had 22 hits, THREE triples, EIGHT doubles, and four homeruns.

On a side note, I also hit my longest homerun ever by Moustakas. A 489ft bomb up in the triple deck in RF. I never saw anything like it. As soon as I hit it the camera shot like straight up and I could only see the sky for a couple seconds lol.

But anyway, what a beat down. I honestly was about to throw my controller in the 3rd inning when they scored 7 runs before I even had one out. But I made it through and didn't simulate or break anything lol.

I HAVE to get a good start in game two or my bullpen will be shot for games three and four. 20210503_234234.jpeg20210503_234329.jpeg20210503_235105.jpeg

Re: MLB The Show 21 Franchise Discussion Thread

Reds lose third straight to Colorado, 7-2 in game three of the series. The Reds were shut out 3-0 in game two as Kyle Freeland allowed only two hits in 7.1ip and 10 strikeouts. Mahle pitched well but no offense to back him up.

Game three I was confident heading in with Lorenzen starting, who has been my best SP so far this year. Well, so much for that theory as he gave up 7 hits and 5 earned in 5ip.

That was all they needed with me personally just out of sorts at the plate beginning to get frustrated playing this darn team lol. I was taking bad swings and made Senzatela look like a CY young contender early on.

He pitched 6ip 2h 1er 3bb and another 10k against the Reds in back to back games. We struck out 15 times altogether this game.

On a side note, Moustakas with his 14th homerun of the season is 2nd in the MLB behind Acuña with 15. Moose has 196 career homeruns, only four away from 200. (I'm playing MLB 20 just fyi).

Winker went down with a MCL sprain in the sim, and Sim, be out for 11 days. Not placing him on the IL and will have Senzel and Freeman play in his spot. To add insult to injury, he went 0-4 with three strikeouts in the 7-2 loss to end his 10 game hitting streak unfortunately.

Lucas Sims is back from the IL finally, as he's only pitched in three games this season. Looking forward to getting him back in the bullpen for help. Osich will be sent back down to AAA. The lefty wasn't very good in 13 games with a 7.20era.

The series finale is next. Looking to win at least one! I am desperately ready to get the hell out of Colorado and off this long road trip. The team is tired and my pitching has really gone the other direction from April's start.

Yeah I think that was why I was so frustrated. After the third inning I practically gave up lol. And I think that mentality has carried over the rest of the series smh

The Rockies finish the 4 game sweep over the Reds with a 1-0 win. John Gray was fantastic and I only managed two hits again all game.

The Cubs with a 5 game win streak is only a .5gb of 1st. The Brewers have struggled losing 7 of their last 10 and have fallen 2.5gb even with my 4 game losing streak.

Up next is the Marlins at home. Marlins (22-19) are 3rd in the East behind the Braves (26-16).

                          Game one: L. Castillo 3-3 4.79era vs E. Hernandez 2-4 3.91era

                          Game two: S. Gray 2-3 5.18era vs S. Sanchez 5-2 2.43era

                          Game three: T. Mahle 4-4 3.78era vs P. Lopez 4-2 2.32era

Not really related to the theme of this thread but just curious how many of you guys that are semi-deep in your franchises have had the crashing issue that people are reporting?some even that have used the SDS roster saying that after 12 to 15 games they start getting crashes every time they begin a game in franchise, just curious as I am scared to get going on my franchise just to run in to the crashing issue people are having and waste all that time....

Sorry if this is off-topic a little bit I just know there’s a big group of guys here that are getting pretty deep into their franchise

                            Thanks for the feedback fellas!

I’ve played over 40 games in the regular season and nearly 30 in spring training and have experienced no crashes

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Any of you guys going to restart your franchises when Ridin drops his roster on Friday?
