How is it that Nike has any say over the number of jerseys a team can wear?

As the customer can’t the team or league just demand what they want and if Nike can’t provide it they take their next contract to another company?

Why is Nike calling the shots?

Because they are the official uniform supplier for MLB and MLB gave them creative freedom to do so. Would have been the same with Under Armour who was originally supposed to be the uniform supplier before their money issues forced MLB to go with Nike instead.

I know right. They did this with the city unis in the NBA and color rush in the NFL. Although now I don’t think they mandate anything in the NFL.

The NFL still does the color rush but just doesn't promote it as in the past. The color rush games were strictly for the Thursday night games but they've become lax on the "official color rush games". Now clubs can wear their third (or color rush) any time.


So the list of possible uniforms may be going out the door soon.

I’d assume they’d have these correct in the game. Usually when there’s a batting helmet error it’s when the team doesn’t announce anything.

I remember in MLB 20 they added the Metrodome Twins set but the "M" batting helmet was missing. They patched in that summer. I imagine it probably won't be in defualt launch because of the style guide but it will probably get patched at some point. But for a quick work around, you can use the Twins 1974-1986 red cap and pair it with the new home jersey and you will get the white panel helmet. Too bad they don't have the Red batting helmet from 1982-1986 pre pinstripes but that's a minor gripe. Hopefully they will add the Twins 1997 Red Sunday home or the 1999-2014 "Twins" Navy alternate that Joe Mauer made famous.

It’s a shame can only create 2 uniforms with 22 be good to create all twins new uniforms and logos but as soon as you do you lose all the other uniforms and only get 2 custom ones.. had that issue with guardians too.,

Man these new Twins unis are all over the place. I hate batting helmets that don’t match the hats. It makes no sense to have a tri color helmet with a plain hat.

One uniform we do need this year is a set of road gray pants with Kelly green socks for the A’s.

I might’ve already posted this in this thread but, I’d love to see the uniform selection be like it is in NBA 2K. Where you can pick arm and leg accessories color, headband color, and sock color.

So The Show could have a selection for sleeves and socks color.

The 4+1 uniform rule has been confirmed by Chris Creamer. Seattle is dropping their all road grey for Navy tops on the road.

Even though they’ll likely be removed in The Show 23, they’ll still have their road 1993 throwback which I believe is the same exact uni.

Gray is a pretty boring color, and Tampa/Seattle's color schemes definitely don't work well with gray anyway so not the worst thing in the world. It's nice that they dropped a dull uni instead of one of their cooler looking alternates.

Teams don't wear their true road uniforms all that often these days anyway. Back in 2016 I think the Cubs only wore the road grays once or twice all year. They rocked the alt blues most road games.
