Baseball to me is like the girlfriend that constantly cheats on you, but you always take back. I stuck around after 1994, I stuck around after the steroid BS, I’ll be standing there waiting when this is done. But I’m not happy about it. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go cry into a box of chocolates.

Just curious. Is the lockout affecting anyone's purchase decisions?(of The Show that is)

        Not mine.

My buying decision will be based on the changes/improvements made to gameplay and franchise mode.

I'm kind of in the same boat. However if there is a bunch of big significant changes in the CBA and its stuff that they can't patch in, I may pass.

              Ditto.

I feel like it's unlikely I'll be impressed but if anything a lockout will make it more likely I'll get The Show, not less.

I've always detached my franchise from reality. It's my own baseball universe in my eyes. And in my baseball universe, there will be no lockout.

                I don’t believe you countryboy.

Maybe your playing decision will be based on gameplay/franchise improvements but we all know you still buying.[emoji846]

Well, I have never bought the MVP edition before. So, since I have a gamestop card sitting in my wallet with 100 dollars on it, I was going to splurge this year and finally purchase the MVP. But after the news yesterday, I’m wondering if I’m really going to preorder now or not. If the lockout is still going on the rosters are going to be a dumpster fire. As of right now I’m going to preorder still, but if the start of the season gets delayed I may cancel it and buy later.

I may get in eventually. I did pick up '21 for $10. Did not like it and there were way to many issues with it for me to invest time in it. '22 will be the same. If I hear good things I may give it a chance. But it wont be until a deep deep sale

                        Re: MLB lockout

The lockout is killing me. The thought of no baseball for another year is terrifying to me.

I just love baseball. It's the most beautiful sport in every way.

I am not exaggerating when I say this, but when I was growing up I played baseball every year and in every league I could. It became this undying passion for the game that made me literally practice almost everyday and then my only goal in life was to play major league baseball.

I eventually got to play a litter longer than most, and in the end, although I didn't accomplish that goal, when I look back, I think how lucky I am that I got to play baseball up to the point I did.

Which was one year at Kent State.

                          Re: MLB lockout

Is it baseball y’all are worried about losing this year or just Major League Baseball? The owners and MLB have acted this way for decades, so not surprising yet another threat at no MLB (and fair on the players not succumbing, the economics are completely upside down).

But notice how I said no MLB. Minor league baseball, from AAA all the way to the collegiate/ summer wooden bat league (pardon the exact name, I can’t recall) is alive and very well. There will be minor league ball in April. I urge y’all, especially those close to the minors (in western NY, we have 7/8 AAA teams within a half days drive) to support those teams, to remember what the sport is about.

And while many now technically owned by MLB clubs, most operate independently and will not have the benefit of MLB club help most likely. So like PV said before, it doesn’t matter the name on the front nor the back. Baseball is baseball. But let’s not forgot the true meaning, rather than being clouded by logos and personalities; baseball will be and will always be.

But to outright think there’s not any baseball, like many are so, seems putting the cart before the horse, and make me wonder if y’all are missing baseball or the MLB (meaning the logos, and not so much the players or what makes the sport kick up dirt on a hard hit single down the line out of reach of the shortstop’s glove…)

I read somewhere that MLB won’t publicly announce ST delay until we get closer to actual spring training games. When they’ll most likely cancel a week at a time.

If not, I would assume not too long after. I have heard in interviews over the years that players have said that they would love if ST was a week shorter, so I don't think they'll mind haha
