MLB Network appears gone

Honestly don't think I am going to miss it with the additions. I don't watch a ton of MLBN broadcasted games IRL, and it really is rather bland compared to some of the stuff we saw in this stream

I couldn’t help but notice that none of the catchers who wear Nike catching equipment had it on during this stream. Surely that hasn’t been removed?

99% sure it was still in the tech test. My guess is they took out most of last year's models in the build the footage was from and just haven't implemented the new equipment yet. I noticed a few guys who wear NB cleats had generics on in the stream as well.

Definitely quality improvements in presentation and commentary.

Makes the decision to buy or not harder. The gameplay premiere did a bit for me but this bumped it a quite a bit more.

Every depends on what we see next Thursday.

But either way, props to the devs for the work they put into this. And hiring a tv guy for presentation. Great business move.

As a franchise gamer my biggest thing is immersion and presentation. The Show and NBA2K have the gameplay and franchise options to keep me content all year. I just need to feel more immersed in my franchise fantasy world and presentation goes a long way. I was already onboard for Show22 but I am excited now. I know this stuff isnt easy (they have been working on it for years) or cheap but this moves the needle for me. Cant wait!

Re the fan cams. I just love the idea of this.

A few years ago I posted on the wish list thread that I would love a virtual stadium tour mode.

This is the next best thing.

I’ll never make it to every stadium to watch a game. (Only ever been to Toronto home games Skydome/Rogers/ Exhibition Stadium) but with this I can basically watch a game in every stadium.

What’s crazy is that I’m sure they didn’t even have time to go over every last improvement. There will be a couple nice surprises come release in regards to home run cams, signature celebrations etc.

Really like everything they are saying. Gotta admit, though, bragging about weaving chatter throughout at-bats and later in the game is something MLB 2K had, literally, 10 years ago, was not a good look. But that is nitpicking.

But, man, pulling raw audio from ESPN is something really smart, and a cool use of technology. Will be really curious if this makes the color commentary better, but with the way AI is being used to create fakes and such, I bet they can stitch those cuts into a lot of situations.

But all of the clips of them working together in context just sounded pitch perfect. They seem like they have the right mission. Hope they pull it off as well as it sounded.

This is fair, but it's also one of those things that is like a prerequisite for having modern commentary. So, like while they're playing catch up, I think you have to call things out like stitching and banter and so on to show "hey we're serious about this now and we're going to put effort into it now after a long time not doing it."

I'm curious to hear more about the "Game of the Week" that was mentioned in the premiere.

Well past couple years they had the mlb broadcast game randomly during the schedule.

Now with this new presentation I would assume they highlight it with a game of the week presentation.

Bet your franchise doesn’t get a game of the week every week but only with a big rivalry game.

Hopefully it’s dynamic and as the season progresses you could get more or less featured in the game of the week.

Not wanting to get ahead of myself but this has probably been the best pre release content they have announced in years. They made a lot of improvements to the gave itself. We can’t really say they just focused on DD this year.

I’m sure they had a contract with MLB Network and they either wanted to go a different direction or maybe MLB Network wanted out since they weren’t using any of their crew. I assume that is why Heidi wasn’t in since MLB Network was gone.

The Regional themes look really cool. I didn’t really like or use the MLB Network theme cause I liked the stat overlay in the scorebug. I am glad that both themes have the same scorebug.

I think this is turning into one of the best releases in a while and turning into a great game.
