But I wish they had BOS 2-0 if it were game 3 and Boston was up 2 games to none.

This is fair, but it's also one of those things that is like a prerequisite for having modern commentary. So, like while they're playing catch up, I think you have to call things out like stitching and banter and so on to show "hey we're serious about this now and we're going to put effort into it now after a long time not doing it."

Yeah, that's why I said it was nitpicking. It's good that they are doing it, and it makes sense that they are explaining it.

And overall, it feels like they really are going well beyond even what MLB2K did.

This is fair criticism, but I am not entirely sure if their uniform/cap setup is modular and could allow for patch usage.

All the more reason to update the uniform templates, which I've been clamoring for for years.

Anyway this whole stream had me absolutely stoked. The new commentary sounds so much more natural and lively in it's delivery. I understand that there will always be repeating lines but if the delivery sounds real then that's all that matters. That's the main gripe I always had with Matt is that he didn't sound natural in the game, he very much sounded like he was reading lines on a script. So I'm very happy with that change.

And all the new presentations and overlays are some of the best I've seen. I wish some of these real life broadcasts would take note. Looking at you Bally Sports. And I'm not too bummed that MLB Network appears to be gone. Their package was always more bland and never changed year to year. For example you would lose the pitcher and batter info on the scorebug with MLBN.

Also, did anyone else notice that it appears as though you can control the camera in the fan cams? Bottom right of the screen indicates using the right analog stick to move the camera around. Definitely a cool addition.

Also, did anyone else notice that it appears as though you can control the camera in the fan cams? Bottom right of the screen indicates using the right analog stick to move the camera around. Definitely a cool addition.

Yeah I noticed that and think that’s a cool addition. Definitely will be more immersive to feel like you’re in the stadium of the actual game. I also like the new cam shown from the outfield stands on a few of those homeruns in the video. Any new camera angles to show off more of the stadiums is a plus in my book.

It was in the tech test, but hasn’t been in any of the streams. Some of the guys who wear NB cleats, and Jordan cleats had generics in the streams as well, so hopefully they just haven’t updated all of the players equipment yet.

Dang you, SDS! The show was going to be an easy pass this year, now you go and deliver this awesome deep dive. Now, I might have to shell out some money. (Still hoping the lighting in MM is fixed)

Everything looks amazing! Well done with updating the game. Here's my only gripe...

They talk heavily about presentation to post season and world series but every year they miss putting in world series patches on the hats/jerseys. I feel like it's a must have when you play big games to make it feel different than a regular season game.

I really hope the celebration is updated and longer. I wanna feel I've earned the trophy.

I once asked why the patches were not added on PS4, and Ramone mentioned that because they did not have enough memory, I think that on PS5 this should not be a problem, we still need an alternate jersey to create a team in a franchise.

If you preordered on Xbox, they take it out within 10 days of release. If it's on PlayStation, they take it out immediately

Agreed. I’m actually more confident now, following yesterday’s telling that the team had been working in the background for 3+ years on this new audio system, that there’s something similar happening on players and uniforms.

It’s no doubt an enormous challenge to redo those and make sure it all works w the physics and animation systems, and I bet they want a few years on the next gen hardware so that it’s all crafted for those in particular. I doubt current gen (PS4) ever sees updated player models, but I’d be shocked if they don’t debut a next gen only full model and graphic redesign for 23.

Most of us will never visit more than a handful of parks in our lifetime so give us that opportunity in VR. Not every VR implementation has to gimmicked gameplay, actual passive experiences are great also.

Then you could look at future upgrades from that starting point. Simming through franchise games and see an interesting outcome happen? Jump to the stadium and watch a full game replay in VR.

Reproducing simmed plays as actual watchable clips (like instant replays for a sim) would be such a game changing experience for immersing us in the world of our franchise. With current gen processing power and load times I wonder if we’re there yet.

And now I’m imagining that in VR and can’t stop salivating [emoji4]
