I'm not saying that you should use those settings, but what your asking for is in the game is all I'm saying. If I was playing with stale hit variety and no dice roll aspects, then I wouldn't be playing it either.
    Those are some solid scores!

    I use directional+ classic too.

I've tried S&B's set, my own set and Armor's set (tried them on AS, AS+ and HOF)...none have given me the variety I crave.

Thanks for the tip...I'll give it a shot.

I actually traded the game in and then my team bought me a copy as a gift...it's like the universe was telling me to not give up on it.

What hitting view do you use with default pitch speeds?

Default pitch speeds and wide camera for hitting. Those are all subject to each individuals preferences though.

        Thanks!

I've always toggled between MLB15, wide, retro and fish eye views.
Always found it interesting that pitch speeds appear different with different views.

Quick update: I think directional hitting may have changed the game for me. Small sample size but much better hit variety and a few more hits in general.

Might need to tweak the difficulty now but this is promising!

          Thanks for the feedback.

            No right or wrong answers.

It's all about how you approach the game and what you want out of it.

I personally despise zone hitting...but that doesn't make me right or wrong.

I will say this...why they made a 3rd hitting option is beyond me.

Directional hitting turns into timed hitting option if you don't influence the left stick.

I personally play with directional, BUT that doesn't mean I influence my swing on every pitch. Actually, I probably influence my swing less than 20% of the time. It's just nice to know it's available if I need it.

The timing swing mechanic takes the option away, so unless you are a zone player, you should probably select the directional option.

Watching these mlb playoffs and now the World Series one area this game is lacking is getting the crowd noise to be better and louder. Even when I’m currently playing on live games and I’m playing the mlb World Series in the game the crowd doesn’t sound like a playoffs atmosphere.

I agree with you here. Atmosphere especially in the playoffs needs an overhaul. Actually, now that I think about it, presentation in general could use an overhaul.

I've been hoping for one of the 'next-gen' features (other than the need needed graphics overhaul) to be a presentation overhaul.

Compare NBA 2K on current-gen/previous-gen to NBA 2K on next-gen for a prime example of what should be possible for SDS.

Really hoping for some good news on this front when the MLBTS23 developer streams start happening in February.

Just finished my 1st complete game on Series S playing the Durango ver. I played the 69 Mets vs the 69 Cards, Seaver vs Gibson. Seaver lasted 6.0 9/SO 3/H. Gibson went 7.0 6/SO 3/H. Scoreless tie heading into bottom of 9th at SHEA. With 2 outs, Cleon Jones with a Power swing hits a walk-off HR off of Chuck Taylor. Mets win 1-0. Probably the most satisfying game of MLB I ever played. This is EXACTLY the type of game I would expect from Seaver & Gibson. I may tweak the CPU AI to throw more strikes early in the count but other than that my sliders and attributes gave me a VERY enjoyable game with NO ISSUES.

That's great to hear just got a PS5 as I prefer a more skill based game than random dice rolls I have little control of . I think NBA 2k does this the best of all games.
Finally Roster share in NHL 22 ! Dreams do come true ! To Garryowen and Glory boys !

Why is the base running in this game so horrible? Send the runners with 2 outs and they run back on contact! Or just don’t run at all. I don’t understand how a game can seriously be this bad with base running.

Yeah, that can be really frustrating. They also take FOREVER to get moving in the intended direction when you try and override their initial move.

Anyone tell me why two infielders run out to the same spot to be the cut off for an outfielders throw? Seem like this occurs on any potential XBH. They run out and then stop within a few feet of each other. Why? Anyone else see this?

It’s called double cuts and is a strategy/defense positioning on balls hit that into gaps or down the line typically

The reason is the first fielder is the primary cutoff
man and the second is there to track down errant throws to try to prevent additional bases being taken on bad throws or mishandling of the relay .
