That's how we do it around here guys. Just wave away all the legit complaints. Perfect game. 10/10. Is this a cult or something lol? There is PLENTY to improve upon. This graphical engine is ancient history at this point, and people are always going to have some issues with online.Comment

I always hope that SDS ignores the haters. The gameplay is the best it’s ever been. The graphics are showing their age but it’s a good trade off for a buttery smooth framerate. Plus the graphics aren’t bad by any means. I think people just want some current gen leaps, which will come in time. I don’t think the series saw a leap in graphics last gen until 17 IMO. That’s 4 years in. BTW you can turn the in game ticker off.Comment

Personally, I still fire up MLB Slugfest 20-03 and MVP Baseball 2005 from time to time and still have a good time with those and I don't even think about the graphics so..I guess that's not really a big deal to me. That's not to say the graphics couldn't be better but as for me they are as good as I would ever want them to be.
I don't really play online so.. I can't really comment on that.NCAA: Kentucky Wildcats

Could have missed a larger chat about it, but is it just me or do the amount Stubs you get for online Co-op or daily moments ridiculously small? I shouldn't get just 13 stubs for a complete co-op game regardless of how I'm doing.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 - (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) Impressions
One thing that maybe they can clean up is when the catcher blocks a ball that squirts away, he will sometimes throw to a base...but the fielder (1B, 2B) are not covering the bag. He just throws to where they are positioned in the field. They just need to employ the logic to have a fielder run to bag and await throw.
Also, I am watching a lot of cpu vs cpu as well as playing against the cpu offline. Most of the games I am seeing almost all the scoring coming from homeruns. There are occasional innings where there will be a few doubles and maybe a single or two to push across 1 or 2 runs, but the majority of scoring comes on homers. I even tried lowering power for both cpu and human to 4, but still the same.
I do agree that this plays the best of the series on the field. Hope they can tighten up some stuff though.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 - (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) Impressions
Personally, I'm really enjoying this game. Some minor things bother me like some commentary blips (but I think those are better post-patch) and the ticker at the bottom repeating stuff is a little aggravating but those are very minor to me.
It's weird though, I see a lot of complaints online about the game being unrevolutionary and that it's the same game every year...I haven't really played since 19 but this game definitely feels different than 19 to me, not that 19 was bad but this game feels better to me. I see other complaints about long time fans of the series being turned off by the attention DD is getting. I've never really played DD and I don't think it's something I would really get into, myself but I find it interesting that most of the complaints are either that the game is "too old" or "too new"
But myself, I think it's great, I'm just sticking with franchise. I do hope franchise isn't eventually scrapped because that's really my go-to.
It's not perfect, no game ever is, but for me the positives far outweigh the negatives.
Glad you've been enjoying the game as well.Currently Playing:

Yep. The “cult” actually has some OBJECTIVE criticism of the game without completely trashing the game. Can I be in your cult, lol.Last edited by KnightTemplar; 04-14-2022, 04:19 PM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 - (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) Impressions
This is the most fun I have had w/ this series in a LOOOONG time. The past couple of years, for some reason, I really had issues seeing the ball. The hits always looked the same, but this year, it really flows incredibly well. Case in point:
-Doing my Franchise of the Cardinals, up in Milwaukee. Gave up an early deficit (down 4-0) heading into the sixth. Brubaker was getting up there in pitches, as I had battled him up to around 80 pitches before this inning (which I was never able to do in the past couple of years). Inning started at the bottom of the order, Bader is up, I check swing, ends up fair and I run it out (again, never would have happened last year). Next up is Edman, start off 0-2, and end up working a walk. Brubaker is lifted, in comes the reliever. Carlson is up, and I battle off a single that hits right off the bottom of the mitt of the SS. Bases loaded for Goldy and I hit a line drive to the OF, hard enough that Cain goes back, crashes on the wall and the ball came loose!
This is a sequence of events that I could never get to replicate last year, or the year before. Incredible work!Comment

I like the UI colors in Edit Mode, easy on the eyes.
I like streaming it on PC. Of course, a real PC version would be best but its the next best thing, I can just have it windowed on the side of the screen and have my spreadsheet/utilities on the other side. Beats having two screens AND opens the possibility of having a second screen with The Show 21 running for referencing and such.
Not an impression per se more of some things I noticed: I'm building a roster using a Generic Roster as a base and running Franchise with around 150 real players with the rest being generic'd results in:
1) Frank Thomas, 100 HRs in a season. Big Hurt fed on generic pitchers big time.
2) The game randomly generates some decent Free Agents at the start of the game, I guess it needs a certain talent level on there so that the game can make hiring decisions.
3) Highly paid superstars, and I mean the best players in the roster yet, end up as unsigned free agents at the start of the 2nd season, INCLUDING players who had long-term contracts that were just... terminated? Budget issues I guess, next time I sim a season with budgets off.Comment

For anyone wondering, Seiya Suzuki is now in the game with the roster update and he has a face scan.
*Edit* Just saw there's a whole thread about the roster update. My bad lol

It didn't really work, as the Rangers still scored 2 more runs that inning. But the Angels ended up winning anyway. Apparently, it's only the third time in 70 years it's happened.
