Great game... always enough improvement year after year that coasters the previous version. But, year after year l always hope for that ability to turn off every notification, help text, icon, etc. (manager tips, xp notification, cut off man prompt, blue fielding circle, baserunner diamond)...or at least be able to manipulate the color/density (like the batter pci)...also with all the great new camera angles it's starting to hurt even more not to be able to turn off the excitement killing hr camera.

Re: MLB The Show 22 - (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) Impressions
I played about 20 franchise games in 2022 when the game first came out then downloaded the new patches. It seems that they have fixed a few things or added a few things with the last few patches in franchise. I am now seeing a lot more stats and numbers popping up which is good. They also fixed glitches from before which appeared on the second game of the season it had stats for last 10 games, that is now corrected.
One thing that is annoying is in the franchise ticker it says everyday that either 2 or 3 people hit 5 or more rbi in one game! They need to fix that glitch. I turned down cpu stamina to 0 and there are few if any complete games being thrown. If they updated the announcing audio so they say stats and other things like mlb 2k 13 did this game would be legendary. Also loving how outfielders don't catch every ball and there is a lot more hit variety. They definitely need to add more audio they say the same lines for batters on your team after like 2 or 3 games. You already know what they are going to say after the first word. Wish they could patch in new audio lines throughout the season that would be awesome.
Imagine if they would say what the batter is against a pitcher or a team or his recent batting history. SDS we neee little things like this it's what keeps people playing franchise. If you can update cards everyday I'm sure you can add little details to franchise mode weekly or monthly.Comment

Try playing a random game offline (if you haven't already) on HOF and see if there is a difference.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Thanks for the heads up. Where have you heard about online leagues being buggy? I want to read up on it myself.

Re: MLB The Show 22 - (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) Impressions
Playing last night against the Reds.
Andrew Knizner is on first (speed 25) and Miles Mikolas at the plate with no outs. I lay down a sac bunt that is bunted a tad harder than I wanted towards Joey Votto. Knizner, who had an extra step lead is chugging down to 2nd. Votto gets the ball and Knizner is about 3/4 of the way to second or maybe a little more and instead of like he would've in previous versions, Votto looks to second but instead decides to get the sure out at first. He turns to flip the ball to the pitcher covering but Mikolas is hustling down the line and instead of Votto flipping to the pitcher he stretches and tags out Mikolas as he goes by.
Thought this was well done and considering more often than not, Votto would've tossed that ball to second for the lead runner and a less than 50% chance of being successful in previous versions. He also would've tried to flip ball to pitcher covering and possibly resulting in runner being safe, but he made the most sure play out of the options available and tagged the runner.
Its these little things throughout the game that really enhance the experience on the field over previous versions, at least in my opinion.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

The game has incrementally improved since I started purchasing (2014).. this season feels more like a quantum leap to me. I couldn't be more impressed. You want free speech?

MLB The Show 22 - (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) Impressions
Played a game against the Pirates where I had three players injured in the game and all in the first 2 innings
Wainwright hurt himself on second batter of game
Tejeda gets hurt diving for ball 2 batters later in first
Bottom of second Ali Sanchez gets injured after getting hit by a pitch.
Made roster and bullpen management quite stressful lol

Re: MLB The Show 22 - (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) Impressions
In the past, I praised the footwork of the fielders; however, I have to revise that to just infielders. I've been watching the outfielders recently and their footwork is wonky at times and the make weird decisions. Thankfully they still catch the ball, but it looks very unnatural while the infielders look fluid.
Also, I noticed a few things about catchers recently. One, has anyone else noticed how hard the ball ricochets off the backstop on the wild pitch? Regardless of the material (wall padding, brick, etc.), the ball bounces back towards the field of play quickly. The other thing is something I just noticed the past two days...catchers making jump throws towards second/third when trying to get runners after a WP. Looks like the same shortstop jump throwing to first animation.
None of the above upsets me or makes the game unplayable, just wanted to share.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 22 - (PS5/Xbox Series X|S) Impressions
The only graphical complaint I have is still the dirt and grass. There's no lips where the grass and dirt meet, so the ball just rolls from one to the other without changing directions. I'd love to see a ball off the end of the bat roll foul because it hit the lip and changed directions. Also, hops caused by the lips would be another bonus.
Other than that though, I think the graphics serve their purpose. Sports games aren't meant to have revolutionary graphics because nobody remembers great sports games for their graphics...but their gameplay and replay-ability. This is why games like CH2k8, NBA Jam, and more stand the test of time.Last edited by Cod; 04-22-2022, 08:42 PM.Comment

I just completed my first game. Playing on the Xbox series X. Exhibition game with newest Live SDS roster. Commentary & presentation on point.
Now I committed 10 errors. Playing as my Braves, I did do my sliders from 21'. There was alot of throwing it around.
I blasted 4HRS, lost 9-5 to the White Sox. Other than the throwing errors the game played smooth.

Played my 2nd game. I think I found the culprit "button accuracy"! I changed it to just "button". Won 4-3, 1 error.
