see i will be upset if i wait and there no roster update. i wonder if i should just start now.

I mean, there will absolutely be an update soon. First update last year was 2 weeks after Early Access Launch too. They're going to want to get Suzuki in the game. If it's not Friday, it won't be more than a few days after that. Ratings updates are every two weeks and transactional updates in the off weeks.

I had issues last year with Ohtani even even being in the lineup. It was hit or miss.

Still you put the guy on your cover and he's the most polarizing player in baseball and you can't play as Ohtani. It's a big L.

And allegedly it still isn't fixed in the new update.

They said in the last stream that the first live update would be in 2 weeks. So I would be surprised if it wasn’t Friday.

They don't. They're missing at least Seiya Suzuki and Robinson Cano among players that have already played in 2022.

Very happy to see the freeze issues addressed.

Also commentary and presentation fixes across all modes...very nice.

Absolutely no gameplay changes.......best part of all of this. Don’t touch it.

So....I really hope all the equipment that was removed is added back in soon. I am scratching my head on this massive purge of equipment this cycle. I was playing MLB 20 last night and it is such a noticeable thing.

I am really wondering what happened. Did this have anything to do with the lockout? The new CBA? Something between MLB, MLBPA and SDS? The silence is odd. Just trying to understand what happened with all the great authentic equipment we lost.

Tell me they are not putting a lot of this behind a pay wall now.....that would be a very very bad look. I mean bad.

If they start putting stuff behind a pay wall then I’m done. They’ll never get another cent from me.

The biggest issue last year was that the CPU wouldn't use him as a DH.

But there was no way for them to get it right this year with the rule change. They could have made it so that you could opt out of the DH and hit Ohtani, which is what the Angels did in the past. And then Ohtani comes out of the game entirely when he's removed from the game as a pitcher. They would have had to put resources into including a system for a team opting out of the DH so Ohtani can hit, and then it would have already been outdated before the game came out.

The Ohtani rule (allowing a pitcher to DH and stay in the game as such when they're removed as a pitcher) will require them to reprogram the game to consider a player as both a hitter and pitcher in the same game. They had to rewrite code to get the game recognize him as both a hitter and pitcher in general. It isn't reasonable to expect them to be able to program such a shift in game in 3 weeks. It's doubtful that'll be an update imo, as that's a big change that will likely require a lot of testing to make sure it doesn't break other things.

Glad to see a couple of the franchise bugs I submitted got addressed.

Glad to see no changes to gameplay. It is perfect right now. And I have turned off auto updates on my PS5 at this point.

As far as the equipment... Who knows at this point...

If the medium camera was reverted back to normal, I am kind of sad about that as I was really enjoying the new angle. I still love the original medium view but it was a nice change. Too bad they can't add it as a low option.

Anyone else try to download stadiums since the patch? Went in to check if the “default glitch” ones were now opening correctly and instead froze up my game on 4 of 5 attempts. Xbox Series S.
