I was legit thinking that earlier when I played my first game since the patch, I thought it looked way better color wise

I didn't see the Rawlings red gloves. Still the same Rawlings gloves that were in previously.

The commentary is so much better after the patch.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Good to hear this. Are you hearing new lines or just less of the often-repeating ones (no batting gloves? ).

I’ve heard a few new lines in limited games (2) but the flow is so much better.

                Brandon White
                Freddy Tarnok

4 of these Atlanta Braves now have card images, but
every single one of them still has the exact same glitched face scan.

Maybe a roster update might fix their 12 faces… but something tells me they’re gonna look like that all year.

Also, Ronald Guzman and Shelby Miller are Yankees with non-mustache facial hair (granted: both are in AAA, but still)

I'm still hearing some weird commentary stuff. Like them saying the runner is tagged out of the box, but it's a groundball to 1B. Or "this guy is a lot like Trout, he's athletic enough to play other sports". The guy at bat? Mike Trout. Still not really impressed by it. It's one of the few things I haven't liked about the game this year.

I hate that this is always the response to criticism. I used to LOVE The Show. It was my most played game every year for well over a decade. I took the day off from work/school every release day. I used to blindly support these guys and defend everything. But I just can’t do it anymore. They’ve completely abandoned offline players. The entire game is based around DD now. I have no incentive to support them, and that makes me sad. The DD modes get updated player ratings before they give roster updates. They have access to equipment that isn’t available in franchise. I have to put up with what are essentially advertisements for DD on what feels like every page of the menus. It sucks. I hate what has happened to my favorite sports games. This fantasy card collecting stuff has completely ruined all of them. They’ve become slaves to it, and every dev team has been turned into money sucking vampires by corporate higher ups who want predatory micro transactions in everything.

But yes. You’re right. I won’t buy it anymore. Thank you Gamepass. Because I love that I can get a subpar baseball experience and not have to spend a dime on it specifically. My crime is that I just love baseball, so I’m stuck with this. Wouldn’t mind if they had some real competition. I mean I played Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2019 (and the 2020 update) more than The Show 19 or 20, but they aren’t updating that anymore and the latest iteration is Switch only (I can’t speak a word of Japanese!). Super Mega Baseball is a fun arcade experience for a few minutes. But that’s all I’ve got. RBI Baseball is crap. OOTP is a simulator, albeit a fun one.

I’m not even mad anymore. I’m just sad. I’m nostalgic for how sports gaming used to be, and I’m sad that the future trends more and more towards the outright removal of offline modes. And I’m sad that every year I foolishly remain hopeful that SDS will actually dedicate a dev cycle to the remaining offline players, only to be perpetually disappointed.

That isn't true. Offline rosters and DD get ratings updates at the exact same time. The rosters are one in the same (the overalls are just calculated differently, but all the attributes are identical except for sometimes offline rosters being capped at 99).

I dabble in DD, but I mostly play Franchise. I still have a ton of fun with this game. Honestly, Franchise plays much better than DD anyway.

I wasn’t responding to criticism though….. I was responding to trolling, guy said the game has been the same for a decade

Everything u said is valid and I take no issue to it as it contains substance and was meaningful criticism

They corrected Randy Johnsons delivery, which I didn't think I'd see.

                          Thank you, SDS!

Lol its substantively the same game for a decade. I see multiple people agreed with my comment. Same textures, grass, hair, player models, very similar physics... I said the same thing and expressed my opinion as a day 1 Franchise player, in a much shorter form. Nobody appointed you White Knight for SDS I'm sure...

You put this very poignantly. I very much appreciate the sentiment. I was expressing the same feeling in a much shorter form. That's trolling I'm told. Nobody is allowed to express displeasure without writing a novel.
