What do you need added to MLB 23 to purchase it?

I 100% agree with you here and have been stressing the need for better grass for several years now here on OS.



That being said, I honestly do not see the next gen 'upgrade' surfacing until MLBTS24. Based on the unsubstantiated rumors online (I'm sure everyone here has seen it, but here it is: https://twitter.com/LumberjackRy/sta...98525874528256) MLBTS23 may be the last version released on last gen consoles (Switch, PS4, XBONE).



If this is indeed true, I see graphics pretty much staying the exact same this coming year. My real hope is that SDS has already been hard at work (this dev cycle and the upcoming dev cycle after MLBTS23 releases) coding a true next gen graphical leap that will hit for the release of MLBTS24 after they don't have to worry about last gen versions.

Does this actually matter? NBA 2K still makes a PS4 version but the Ps5 graphics are certainly next gen….

How about letting us edit all the managers and coaches in the game so we can have real staffs? What is the point of having a staff at all if most of them are fake?

On top of that, I’d like players to become coaches after they retire. Not all players but maybe a hidden stat in the game to allow some.

Who would have thought Craig Counsel would ever be head coach.

I’ve wanted this forever

The ability to add real coaches minor league coaches and even collegiate coaches is something I really want to do and would add a dynamic to franchise that would help improve the immersion the deeper you get into it.

A couple more things that I would like to see are customizable cameras for when the ball is in play and an actual HDR slider that we can adjust. I know they had one before but it wasn't very good. If they can implement a better one that'd be awesome

If we had a customization suite like 2K23…..that would be a serious game changer.

Unfortunately….my expectations are set pretty low of what they will reveal.

As well as customizable managers and coaches I’d also like managers to have more impact than a +/- to stats.

I’d like to see team strategies that can be implemented. ( pitching/defense) ( hitting for power),(contact/speed). Something along those lines.

When you put it that way it does give me pause. I’m not sure if I’d want to be handcuffed to building a team to fit my manager’s style.

I guess what I’m looking for is for each manager to have their own personality/style?

I’d like there to be a noticeable difference when playing a franchise with the Dodgers as opposed to the Pirates for example, that involves more than just payroll.

Or maybe I’m just overthinking it?

For me two simple things:

1. Year to year roster saves, and
2. Significant increase in the last name database. In 2022 the number of last names decreased a lot with the implementation of a new broadcast team.

This! Both of these but yeah the amount of name audio decreased in half or probably more. Even basic last names

I believe when they added the new announcer team we lost about two thirds of the last names from the database.

Oh, ye of little faith.

I am so excited about this years release. I will do my typical early purchase. I think the Covid nonsense may have had a big impact on production. I often wonder how they pull some of this stuff off, e.g., “Baez was 0 for 18 until he got 2 hits yesterday”. How the heck……

I think, just my opinion, this game has too much stuff trying to please everyone always leaves out someone. I read where this was the 10th most sold video game, so the game will go on and it’s making money for Sony, so….I’d hate to hear one day that SDS is shut down.

I’ll continue to buy and support the game as I don’t believe there is any willful neglect. Devs get marching orders and I’m truly excited to see what is ahead.
