Oh, ye of little faith.
I am so excited about this years release. I will do my typical early purchase. I think the Covid nonsense may have had a big impact on production. I often wonder how they pull some of this stuff off, e.g., “Baez was 0 for 18 until he got 2 hits yesterday”. How the heck……
I think, just my opinion, this game has too much stuff trying to please everyone always leaves out someone. I read where this was the 10th most sold video game, so the game will go on and it’s making money for Sony, so….I’d hate to hear one day that SDS is shut down.
I’ll continue to buy and support the game as I don’t believe there is any willful neglect. Devs get marching orders and I’m truly excited to see what is ahead.Mets Baseball, All Day Every Day

I'd like see the addition motion blur to make hitting more simulation like. Currently, the game doesn't really give you a feel for pitch speeds, breaks, etc. due to the lack of motion blur. PYS did a decent job of simulating this in 2019, especially with regards to pitch speed:

Neither game does a great job of simulating movement, which is another reason why hitting tends to be rather easy in both games once you understand the mechanics.Comment

Re: What do you need added to MLB 23 to purchase it?
1. Fix the stats issues, I have had MLB 22 for only a couple months, got past the ASB in a franchise and a few players had stats reset to zero, i.e. I had Willson Contreras leading league in homers and then simmed a few days and played another and looked at stats after that and said he had zero homers all of a sudden. Must've happened before I played that last game because I closed out and reopened franchise and still said zero. Yea that kind of killed that franchise, not that I was really playing a serious one anyway starting out after the IRL season was well over, but still.
2. More lines for commentary. I get it first year with new commentators so I didn't expect a whole lot of lines, but hearing the same line every single game about a player does get old, fast.
I would say year to year saves, but yea with the stats issues above I probably won't have anything to carry over anyway, so if it doesn't return in 23 it wouldn't effect me in anyway, would be nice for it to return in 24, if 23 doesn't have any franchise killing issues, but yea if 23 does I will just go back to 20...again.Comment

I need to feel like I'm controlling the fielders and not just watching animations play out as if it were a quicktime button-pressing game.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

What is it with the menu structures for sports games these days - they ALL suck badly. This whole nested menu approach needs to die-off across the sports gaming space.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

I can't tell you the number of games I have lost because 2 or 3 runs will score when the animation doesn't kick in in the outfiled, and the fielder just stands there letting the ball drop behind them. Then, by the time you are able to control him again, the ball has rolled to the wall, 2 or 3 runs have scored, and you have a runner on third from the triple that he just got on what should have been a simple popup. Infuriating.Comment

Re: What do you need added to MLB 23 to purchase it?
Hey everyone,
This is my first post. Long time reader of this forum.
I really enjoyed MLB The Show 22. I'm likely going to stick with it for another year due to the fact I have less time for games than I used to. However, the two things that would entice me to buy the game would be the following:
1. The return of online franchise with custom rosters. Such an amazing mode that should have never been removed.
2. If the game includes the changes made to Citi Field. New scoreboards and changes to RF dimensions. If these changes don't make it in i'll be waiting until MLB 24.Comment

MLBTS could learn a lot from other baseball games (PYS, MVP, etc.) and vice versa. I like MLBTS overall, I just really want a pitching and hitting overhaul. If I jack up the difficulty, I want to earn hits and out-think my opposition at the plate.Comment

Re: What do you need added to MLB 23 to purchase it?
I’ll preface this by saying they’re gonna get my money. There are too many changes to MLB to keep playing ‘22. That said, here’s my wishlist:
- Improve CPU lineup and roster-building logic (duh)
- Add trade slots
- Let teams eat salary in trades
- More realistic pitcher injuries (Tommy John surgery, for example)
- “Borrow” 2K’s customization suite for custom uniforms
- Keep adding to and improving the stadium creator. If I want to build a 90,000 seat football stadium that shoehorns in a baseball field, let me. Add memory room for more assets. Allow users to put distance markers, scoreboards and ads on walls. Model dugouts after the real-world equivalent. Make sure stands can snap right to the wall (that gap behind home plate bugs me). Custom bullpen placement. No mandatory batter’s eye. More flexibility with stands and other assets. The ability to place team logos. Facade options. Domes.
(There should still be requirements for online play. But allow people to go crazy if their stadiums aren’t being used online.)
You can tell where I spend a lot of my time in this game.Last edited by JoeRodgers1175; 01-25-2023, 05:46 PM.Comment
