I could be mistaken, but I believe the equipment they add to the game is actually given to them by the companies themselves. So Nike/Adidas/UA gives them which cleats they want in the game. That’s why the older ones get removed or some of the ones the pros wear which are exclusives aren’t in.

It’s the same issue in the NHL series where they have the non-pro stock models of everything because the companies will only provide the models they want. Probably because they see it as a marketing opportunity to help sell to the players of the game.

After the patch today:

New new balance cleats, under armor and mizuno.

Jordan arm sleeves added into the game.

Still no Bruce bolt batting gloves or updated model nike cleats smh.

They broke the Nike Alpha Force Elite batting gloves. Since the patch they're now exactly the same as the Trout Elite gloves.

Also can't edit the "N" on the new NB cleats anymore.

Basketball and baseball are two different departments, so I doubt they are dealing with the same people. Also 2K probably pushes a bit more since shoes are a huge part of basketball culture. I agree that I’d hope we’d get the correct models in every year, just maybe has to be more of a focus from the SDS team.

I dont see Bruce Bolt coming this year, have they ever added a brand that wasnt in the game day one?

For the BB guys, think Im gonna give them Jazz’s batting glove brand, something different that stands out like BB.

Bruce Bolt is still like a small family company too, right? It's not like SDS can just add them in, they have to have licensing agreements and whatnot. And that might take a little longer for a smaller company like Bruce Bolt that doesn't have an in house legal team.

The art team for SDS was also really busy this year. They added like 5 new Historical Stadiums, several other fictional stadiums created via stadium creator, and 25-30 new sets of uniforms. Makes some sense that other things like new equipment would lag behind.

But we dont have the newest nike cleat worn by 70% of the mlb and milb lol
