Can SDS get anything right the first time? You can't change the sole color on the new UA cleats they added. White no matter what. Guarantee they won't change it in a future patch, either.

Re: New Equipment in The Show 23
The answer is most likely because Nike doesn’t sell it for retail (that I’ve found at least) and told them to take it out. The companies give guidance to what they want in game and for that reason the Nike stuff every year isn’t the on field MLB model.Comment

Re: New Equipment in The Show 23
Very solid point…my question is if that’s the case and companies like Nike do give guidance on what’s in the game then why would they not want there newest cleats in the game being promotedComment

Re: New Equipment in The Show 23
That one I don’t understand. I know with EA and FIFA, they only put in the newer Nike/Adidas cleats after they’ve officially been released for retail. So even if you see them worn by the pros, they don’t go into an update until they sell them. I’d assume they treat baseball the same way, but I thought the new stuff has been released already so they’d be in game.Comment

Re: New Equipment in The Show 23
Next update… Nike Alpha Huarache 4’s and Alpha Huarache NXT and New Balance Ohtani gloves, elbow, wrist, and shin guards. NB mitt and arm sleeves, and cleats OR RIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOTTTTTT!!!!! @SonySanDiego
If you need space remove all generic sunglasses that nobody uses for MLB players or CAP players! Generic shoes and gloves I can see keeping. And please put the Nike and Nike Jordan extended arm guards back in while keeping the new ones as well! Please and thank you! [emoji1317]

Re: New Equipment in The Show 23
Also looking at the color blocking on the huarache, I am positive SDS will butcher them. I still would love to have them but Im sure we will not be able to replicate any color ways that are actually being worn by players.Comment

Maybe we’ll get another patch this Friday or next because they’ll need to add the rangers city connect jerseys soon.

Re: New Equipment in The Show 23
I don't believe because in 2k they have every lebron/kobe and shoes dating back years for all brands. Also they have kept the Griffey cleats in MLB and those have not been available or worn by players for years in any volume (maybe 1 or 2 players wears them for a couple games per year).

Also baseball is a different department and Nike is pretty tight with their baseball stuff because it’s not a huge department for them compared to basketball. I do hope that they fix the color selection on all cleats because most of the soles and logos don’t update and it makes for unrealistic looking equipment.Comment

Re: New Equipment in The Show 23
Basketball is much different though. They still sell or remake most of the shoes that are worn in the NBA, plus they are all sold on retail. Plus the Griffey cleats are in as a Griffey exclusive (which are still sold). But either way they need the sign off from Nike/Jordan/Adidas and others to get those shoes in the game. There are plenty of shoes that Nike had them remove over the years as they’ve added new models (Hyperdunks are a good example since they usually have only the newest ones in game). My friend that worked for 2k said that they had to approve everything with the companies so I don’t see why it’d be any different for SDS.

2k has the old models of Adidas, NB, and Nike. Shoes that are not being sold. Like this isn't exclusive to nike. It's probably just a memory thing for mlb. Like nike, Adidas, NB only always have 3 models in. Im sure it's some sort of space thing with sds.
Is nike also the only allowing them to put in ONLY high top huaraches? Also, Griffey cleats are not available for sale right now.Comment

Re: New Equipment in The Show 23
lol This is a whole bunch or random stuff that is not true. MLB the show does not keep old models of any shoes in. Every shoe company is not coming in demanding last years models get removed in MLB but allowing 2k to keep all their models in.

And the Griffey cleats aren’t sold, but the sneaker version is still sold on the Nike site.Comment

Re: New Equipment in The Show 23
The space thing is definitely true regarding SDS. I was just talking about why some shoes/equipment is in and others not and what was said from someone who worked on it. I’d assume SDS only puts 3-4 in and asks the brands which ones they want and then put those in the game (the retail version, not the pro stock version).

Whatever is the cause. It’s pathetic they can get updated elbow guards and batting gloves but we’ve had the same cleat models for 3 years now.

To me is sad that we keep getting new stuff and brands that are rarely used by players.Comment
