I'm sorry, but that isn't going to happen. The majority of RTTS players are not engaged on social media when it comes to the game - they're the silent majority that is going to buy the game, be stoked about the face scan thing and quietly do their thing.

You have every right to be upset; but to think the "units sold" number is going to drop precipitously this year is farcical. Could it have impacts next year? Maybe, but very doubtful.

      - On Field Training returns instead of mini games (I like this a lot)

      - Updated screen when Ballplayer is drafted (I think it's better than before, but not a million times better)

      - MLB Network video clips during key moments of Road to the Show (thought those were in last year?)

Anxious for next week's Franchise, MTO, Presentation stream!

After seeing RTTS feature premier, i'm not sure if I should be excited or afraid to see the Franchise premier next week. If there is such hype for these premiers and we essentially get jack-sh*t out of them, i'm afraid they're blowing Franchise way out of the water.

Idk, maybe i'm being pessimistic but I just hate how literally NOTHING seems to matter unless it entails DD. I sure hope something major is unveiled next week.

The Franchise premiere is literally going to be a UI overhaul for the Draft with some new QUIRKS or some other buzzword that ultimately is just a modifier for a draft prospect. I would expect it to be just five rounds or even just one or two and the rest of auto-drafted or something for "a streamlined experience."

March to October will continue to get a new thing or two that they will just refuse to carry over to Franchise mode, and the new COMMENTARY will be a lie about how they have "10,000 more fresh lines" when it's actually just AFK animation audio that is different.

This is all really just a product of having no real competition. I mean RBI was not ever taken serious when it came back

Competition forces to do better. Sports games suffer when they have nobody to compete against. NBA2K being the one exception to the rules as they constantly go above and beyond

I mean in reality the only other really good game out there is Super Mega Baseball which a lot of people play but it suffers a little bit from not having mlb players in the game.

99% of us are going to buy this game regardless. We have no choice. Its buy it, play an older version or have no mlb baseball in our lives.

You nailed the commentary thing. But in all due respect we did just get a complete overhaul of the commentary last season with new announcers. That took a lot of time and effort to put into the game. I am not really sure how much more they can add to the commentary. If you play 1000 games you are going to hear it all. Commentary to me is fine. I mean what else can they do? Add every announcer for every team in the game? The time, effort and money that would take. Never will happen

I don’t know to be shocked or not. I figured with the Negros League stuff added that there would be a lack of additions in a mode. Just kinda disappointed it’s RTTS, either way it’s still a day one buy for me because of everything else.

Besides the minimal updates in every mode this year and no graphical updates I seriously think they have a multi year development plan with a new engine and major graphical overhaul they will roll out next year when the adoptation of the ps5 and xbox series x are at a level where they can finally capitalize on. Maybe they even keep the old engine for another year for the ps4, xbox and switch.
That thought definitely crossed my mind as well. That maybe they were working on something bigger for an upcoming year. By the time The Show 24 comes out the current gen consoles will have been out for 3 1/2 years. Maybe they drop support for older consoles but unfortunately I thought, "shoot, they are probably still required to support The Switch"

Metalhead, the developer of SMB, was acquired by EA a couple years ago and is supposedly releasing SMB4 this spring. With the extra funding from EA, I'd be shocked if it didn't get a real MLB license this year. But there's also the fear that with it being EA it might just turn into another ultimate team mode. Either way, I'm excited to have an alternative to The Show. SMB3 plays a great game of baseball and with an MLB license that might be all I need to get my baseball fix if The Show continues to stagnate.

I always thought it would be pretty cool to have all of the retro All Star uniforms in game. Give us some more options, even generic ones, instead of the current year for a 20 yr franchise lol.

True, but if it's any consolation SMB3 released in May and was announced in March. Maybe we will hear something in the next couple weeks.

I don’t play RTTS, is that new?

Unrelated question to the stream itself:

I'm sure that RTTS doesn't do Y2Y carry-over anymore, but did it used to when franchise mode was doing it? Just curious. If that ever returned, I'd definitely love to have one carry-over for franchise and one for RTTS. Then I can spread out how I play both modes down the line. It was commendable for them to have even considered it in the past, but I'm sure they need that solid foundation of both modes before it happens again, if ever. Here's to hoping.

Haven't been able to watch the stream yet, though as disappointing as others are making this out to be, I had fun with RTTS in MLB '07: The Show and that's the last time I played it. Surely if I were to get this year's title I'd have felt an improvement over 16 years of time. Not sure I'll get this game though again until I get a PS5 or if it comes out on PC, and I think they're still being held back by legacy code and last generation's hardware limitations.
