I feel like if it was doable, SDS would have never stopped it, plus Madden and 2k would have joined in long ago as well.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

While I miss it, they made a decision to work on other parts of franchise. There was a post here recently about another user talking to the devs at an event. They want to improve franchise. That has been made clear.
Personally if we get 120+ player rosters and other quality improvements, y2y is a necessary sacrifice.
Now once they get franchise to their vision, we may see y2y return.
In the end, we are going to disagree here it seems. But I think we both, and everyone here, just want the game to keep getting better. We all play the game because we love it. Any version. Whether it is 22, 21, 20, or any other one.
Honestly, I am still deciding if I am going to get 23 personally.Funkycorm

While it may be doable. Doing it before proved that. It's a question of feasibility. That is where the choice comes in. If franchise remains stagnant because they dedicate resources to y2y saves, we don't get growth of the mode.

We are bringing back y2y saves we just needed to get all these new features in like full a ball, bigger rosters, etc people will be happy. However if next year they bring back y2y and nothing was really added to franchise and it does not explain why they waited people will be upset. They will still buy it but they will be upset.Mets Baseball, All Day Every Day

Does anyone know if there are opt outs in franchise mode for players contracts? If not that should be in the next installment imop. It's long overdue. Or having no trade clause added to the deals or 10 to 5 rights?

Lets just hope they have a vision. I know a lot of people are upset with no y2y but I feel like if a year or two from now they come out and say

SDS does not have a good history of bringing back features that they have cut out of the game. There are still people who believe Online Franchise will still make a return.Last edited by Dolenz; 03-20-2023, 10:05 AM.Comment

I mean signing a guy to like an 8yr deal (Correa deal the first time with Minnesota as an example) and the language stated he could opt out after 1 or 2 years even though it's an 8yr deal and test free agency again. I know there's club or player option but is that the same thing? I'm thinking it would say something like the way I'm describing it at the top.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise, MTO, Presentation and Commentary Feature Premiere Brea
I've been playing it for years since ps3 I've seen it but never understood how it worked....simply bc when you give one or the other if not a mutual option between club and player I've never gotten that far into years of one franchise for them to trigger especially now since they took away y2y saves. I've gotten into year 2 of a franchise once and that is bc they had y2y saves before and I just continued over into my next season on the new release...but obviously now they don't have it which sucks. So now I'm buying the new one and I guess play my own fictional franchise in year 2 and find time to either start a new franchise in 23 or just play h2h online and not start one at all lol w/a quiet cry [emoji28]

Knowing nothing about coding I still find it funny that things like this could be hard for them when a game like OOTP has it in there code no problem. OOTP has every single thing baseball has down to the water bottles with no coding issues. Maybe SDS and OOTP should get together and make a super gameMets Baseball, All Day Every Day

In addition from what I gather they now give the choice of scouting a position for a week or scouting a single player for a week. That's not even remotely how it works IRL. I'm in Columbia MO where the University of Missouri is located. When I attend a college game I sometimes see scouts in attendance particularly if the opposing team has a highly touted player. Those scouts aren't only scouting that player or players at only one position. If I correctly understand what they have done then it is interesting but not realistic.
The only positive I see is if - not sure if it's true - if they have improved the quality of players in the draft pool. For years the quality of players in the draft has been poor. That to me - if it is true - would be the only reason to buy MLBTS23 but then without y2y saves I lose all of those players when MLBTS24 comes out.
I would never advise anybody else what to do but for me I'll probably take a pass on this year's game which would be the first time I haven't bought it on the release date. I gave them the benefit of the doubt last year with the addition of new platforms but they had a full year to fix it and did nothing.≡Comment
