I'll always believe that it's their game engine. It seems to be a bitch to work with and lacks flexibility.

For instance, PS5 has some different graphics settings, but they all run at a solid 60 FPS, so what's the point? The Switch has no graphics options and would benefit greatly with options to let the consumer achieve the highest framerate it can. I don't understand their decisions, but it could be because their game engine lacks flexibility.

It's not good when the player models in the PS5 version of The Show look much more like the Switch models of FC24 than the PS5 ones.

I'm not graphics guy. I do think they are showing their age, but its just not the top of my list.

PC release is my biggest hope. I think that is the only way I will get the game I want (modding, roster creation, stats editing..)

It'd be amazing to see what people could do with the game.

Just a roster editor would change so much about this game... never even mind full modding potential.

I don't think they realize how big of an issue it is. This game has looked the same for years now. It's not just about graphics. It's the feeling of playing something new and fresh. Last year was the first time I haven't bought the Show in like 10 years. I'll probably hold off again.

It's felt stale for years now.. no eye pop or appeal. Always a solid game but it just feels recycled now. Really wish EA or 2K would get back into the game. I know they would knock that area out of the park

We "CAN" and should expect to get truer next-gen graphic upgrades (at some point) . I mean PS pro is probably coming out at end of year with increased performance and PS6 in like 3 years.

I highly doubt we would ever get full modding potential.

They look fine for now. I would rather have better performance than better graphics. Probably best if they focus on performance and features and then get a graphics upgrade in 2026 when next gen consoles hit.

Performance is already rock solid and can even go above 60 fps if your tv supports a 120hz refresh rate. Not sure how they can improve on that. Also next-gen consoles are not coming in 2026, unless you mean a mid-gen refresh (PS5 Pro).

I was surprised to hear PS6 news so soon. Guess I shouldn't be with hardware advancing the way it is.

As I said, graphics are just not my passion, having started on 16 and 32-bit systems. I understand that is not the case for everyone.

.. the game would have to hit PC to get a look behind the curtain. That very well may never happen. And thats a real shame.

it's totally cool if graphics are not a priority but paying $70 for a PS5 or Xbox X game and it's a ps4 game upscaled. I mean they can't even get every name of players on 40 man rosters in the game . Their rosters ? you have to actually put the names for some of them . iThey cant even be bothered to do that. Their pitching rating formula is a joke. How does a pitchers stuff not go into an overall rating? that's how archaic their engine is. But yeah 70 bucks sure

The last time this game was a day one purchase for me was 20.
When 21 dropped and the news of losing Y2Y I decided to pass and continue with 20. I had 22 given to me as a birthday gift and it never really took off for me. I read reviews for a couple of weeks before buying 23 and I’m glad I bought it. I still think the K count is too high but apparently that has something to do with QC.
This year I will do the same and read reviews and listen to some friends for their intake.
I don’t get mad about it if things are not where I want them to be, I just keep my money and play what I enjoy.

I don’t usually notice graphics like others but the storyline Jeter shots look awful , did they go to an old engine or was that on the switch

Ill give you an example of how old this graphics engine is. On certain pitcher cameras you can see graphic tearing in the uniforms. Go to MLB the Show 20 its the same tearing. Look at Create a Park...those are not current Gen not even close. They are doing 4 feature premiers two of them are Storylines, they arent even doing a feature premiere next week..i mean guys cmon now.

One big visual thing for me is how the numbers stretch and distort a bit on the back of uniforms when players swing. They don't do that in reality and it's weird to see.
