The problem is, some people like myself make rosters for personal use offline. Why shouldn't I be able to create an actual ballplayer who hit over 300 HR's? SDS is wrong to prohibit use of an actual name they themselves actually have in their game. I understand you not wanting your children to see obscenity, but my GOD don't encourage SDS to censor offline players.

Easier to monitor and block a few words as opposed to artwork. That's the laziness at work.

Re: Joe Adcock
From what I mentioned to half the people quitting when they're down a few runs in the 2nd inning, most of the online community is lame.

Re: Joe Adcock
The workaround didn't work for me either. I was doing a roster for the 56 Braves with Joe Adcock starting at 1B. Got the inappropriate text message also. What REALLY ticks me off: the Seattle Mariners have a minor league pitcher named Ty "Adcock". The name is ACTUALLY in the game but we are not allowed to use it for a created player. Strangely there is no audio however. Political correctness or a bug? I had to spell the name the name Adcocck to get it close. Otherwise, love the game on PS5.

''Yeah, I know what the rest of OS is thinking. What's these guys making such a big stink about hats and logos. Well let me give you a hint junior. Maybe we can live without video games, people like you and me. Maybe. Sure, we're too old to change the world, but what about that kid sitting down, opening the vault, right now, finding drawings of pee-pees and wee-wees on bats and hats. Doesn't HE deserve better? Look, if you think this about Joe Adcock and Dick Allen, you better think again. This is about that kid's right to play baseball without getting his mind warped. Or maybe that turns you on, maybe that's how you get your kicks. You and your good-time buddies. Well, I got a newsflash for you joy-boy, party time is over.'' - Buntman

Re: Joe Adcock
One thing to keep in mind is that its not entirely SDS call on what is and isn't censored for offline play. The ESRB determines what is and isn't allowed for a game to earn "E" rating (everyone) and that is what SDS/MLB want the rating to be so that its "playable" for everyone.
Also keep in mind that online play isn't bound by the ESRB.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Joe Adcock
Not sure if you were referring to my post where I did mention the censoring of offline users.I was addressing the blatant hypocrisy of SDS allowing the name "Adcock" to be included in Show 23 as a minor league pitcher, but not allow me to create "Joe Adcock" for a Historical roster I intend to use offline. How exactly is the ESRB or anyone else for that matter going to know what names I give players for offline play? Joe Adcock played for 17 seasons and hit over 300 home runs. This is sheer stupidity on the part of SDS. No one else.
It doesn't matter how you intend to use names for players in offline play, the ESRB sets its rating based on certain parameters for each rating they give out. MLB/SDS want the game to be rated for everyone, therefore they must follow the guidelines put forth by the ESRB to obtain that rating and the censoring of certain words is part of it.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Joe Adcock
You obviously didn't read my post carefully. The name in question "ADCOCK" is already in the game being used by a minor league pitcher created by SDS studios. If your opinion is that my naming of a REAL player "Joe ADCOCK" somehow violates the ESRB terms, why is Ty Adcock in the Seattle Mariners farm system? This was the only point I was trying to make. SDS can't have it both ways. If my using "ADCOCK" is inappropriate text why is SDS allowed to use the exact same name. Your argument is invalid.Comment
