    Bull's eye there!

Matter of fact, in the world we live in (not related to generations, or age) people tend to communicate in a way that if they we're on the other side, they would send those same questions or comments to hell.

I wonder how many times people gets their wishes beeing rude to someone. ;-)

Debating on sitting this one out. I'd be more excited if they axed the past gen systems. I have a kid due in July so my gaming time will take a hit (not that I play much now). I have been updating rosters in 2023 all off-season and have a good set (outside of updating service time) to at least play exhibition games. Might stick with it for a while unless the gameplay reveals wow me.

I know it's become a dead horse in a lot of ways around here, but man it's sad to see what's become of what was one of my absolute favorite games for years.

It was fresh and progressive and was lauded as an industry leader every year. Now, for the past 5 years, it feels like it's been stagnant. At first, I chalked it up to tapping out the PS4 hardware. But now we're 4 iterations into the PS5 era and there are obviously plenty of questions about the series.

Is the gameplay still solid? Of course it is. But when you see the same jersey templates and low back numbers, the same 2d grass and dirt, the same 2-generation old pitching animations, the same clay-like puffy faces, the same mostly-static uniforms... I just don't know how anyone can look at the current state of the game and say that they legitimately feel a sizable improvement, or "next-gen" jump, has been made in 4-5+ years at this point.

It’s completely fair to question the strategic direction that the franchise has taken since at least the Show 21.

It’s clearly not the fault of a single person, but a lot of us are frustrated and have no way of voicing that other than not buying the game. And given that we’re not even enough to be a rounding error, boycotting will do nothing in the big picture.

              This ^

Of all the game franchises I follow there are 2 that have no developer + community interaction, The Show and GTA. Both make games I love but I’d like to see them improve this.

This used to be different. SDS (back then SCEA) used to have community days where they picked members from these boards to come to the studio for a few days to sit down, exchange ideas, test certain aspects of the game give feedback etc.

I even remember one year one of the community invites sat down with the stadium art guy and people here posted stuff about incorrect colours and what not and he almost went back and forward in real time to see what was possible within the time they had and he would fix it on the spot.

                Man those were the days!

I remember looking at Ramone’s tweets and replies where he’d answer questions about the game all the time.

I am partial to the Forbes reviewer.

He did a nice write up on year-to-year saves recently.

.. this is not a must have for me. Sad that no sports games are at this point in my life.

I want a game I have to buy on release day. I need a game I have to buy on release day. Its simply not there.

I remember the annual Stadium Update threads posted by an SDS dev specifically looking for feedback from this forum.

I remember them just dropping fact sheets with just an insane amount of new features and updates.

I remember the little things thread where people would find all these cool little details in the game, those things seem to be in the past. The game is no longer known for "the little things".

Definitely miss those things as well. The game used to used as an extreme labor of love from the devs, now it seems as it's just rushed to get out and make the sales. This is typical when a small company because too big.

I can't really fault them on this though.

They hired Ridin, the number one roster creator for years.

They hired TABarnes who would basically get the game and simulate a ton of seasons and such to find out what logic changes needed to be made and what other errors happened.

So they don't have a back and forth with us but they definitely read and hire from OS.

It'll never happen but watching spring training baseball again makes me wish there were a way for them to just set the ST roster to 90 (max # of players you can have in your org) and set the logic for it to ignore player jersey numbers as you would in an ASG. Just basically let you play as anyone you want in spring.

I'd love to be able to play as my prospects in spring games and get a feel for them without having to play actual minor league games

But again, ST has been the same in the Show for pretty much forever as they know most people sim past it. So alas.
