So they don't have a back and forth with us but they definitely read and hire from OS.
There was a time they interacted here a lot. But you're right, now they get some of the best from here and don't jump on the forums.

The lack of information this cycle has been a bit of a disappointment. Two whole streams on Storylines tells you what their focus is. I'm not hopefully that there will be any meaningful changes/add-ons for Franchise or create-a-stadium. I really hope I get proven wrong.

Even though I don't play the mode I do hope they make some improvements to RTTS. I got a lot of friends that use to love that mode and aren't happy that is has become a backseat to everything else. That was a time a flagship mode for the franchise.

I also don't get why they took this week off from a stream after two straight weeks of Storylines. Maybe they'll be a surprise later this week we'll get a stream this week. Just want something more like we've gotten in past years pre-launch.

It was fresh and progressive and was lauded as an industry leader every year. Now, for the past 5 years, it feels like it's been stagnant. At first, I chalked it up to tapping out the PS4 hardware. But now we're 4 iterations into the PS5 era and there are obviously plenty of questions about the series.

Is the gameplay still solid? Of course it is. But when you see the same jersey templates and low back numbers, the same 2d grass and dirt, the same 2-generation old pitching animations, the same clay-like puffy faces, the same mostly-static uniforms... I just don't know how anyone can look at the current state of the game and say that they legitimately feel a sizable improvement, or "next-gen" jump, has been made in 4-5+ years at this point.
This is a well said, level headed comment and I couldn’t agree more.

I agree. I do think that some of the under the hood changes we want in franchise, like working bullpen logic, might not be noteworthy enough for a feature reveal.

But you're right. I have no idea of why or how this marketing strategy was implemented. I don't think they have done much to excite thus far.

Marketing, Now idea at all who set this up. They must like the guy. As for the bullpen logic, Would love to see them fix that but my guess is that it would take messing with code that is not worth it at this point. I mean we all hope in 2025 we will get next gen game on the new engine right? So does that mean they also have to create a whole new code? Maybe then it gets fixed. Just feels like at this point to get what most people want they have to start over from scratch.

Re: IGN MLB 24 The Show First Look

Said this in one of the other threads but I think this game was pretty much mailed in by SDS this year because they knew College Football 25 was coming out mid summer, so why bother doing a full next gen release when most sports fans will flock to that? My thoughts (hopes) is that MLB The Show 25 will be built on a completely different engine, and all may be forgotten. If not, we really need EA and or 2K back in the fold making viable MLB Licensed games.

Kind of shameful that these game developers are allowed/willfully releasing copy and paste sports games year after year, and now SDS is fully complicit with the 2Ks and EAs of the world.

And what do they have in common when it comes to sports games?

                Critical thinking is hard.

Just said it was an interesting take.

I am not sure they plan things around another game. I mean baseball lovers will not drop the show for college football. They will play both as will I. No way I would ever drop a baseball game for college football.

Also, contrary to popular belief, some people like baseball more than college football.

I love baseball more than anything.

If there are minimal franchise improvements again this year I WILL jump ship to NCAA entirely. I have been waiting a decade for NCAA to be back, and although I usually play MLB close to year around, but this would be the first year I drop it in the middle of summer. It's just grown so stale to run a solo franchise in the condition the mode is in.

I went from getting in 7+ seasons a year, to only 2 last year.

Oh so they are just a **** company and there is no explanation for this turd they are about to drop? I guess that's what you can do when you have a fan base that would blindly buy anything they put out. Sad.

Also I think Ramone had too much power within SDS now and needs to be taken off the Show.

If EA messes up College Football 25 after having 10 years to make another game, that might be the final straw. Madden used to be an everyday launch buy for me, and it hasn't been in years. MLB was an every year launch buy for me but that ended in 2021 when I didn't play it at all and I only started playing it again when it came to Gamepass in 2022, which I might not give it the time of day at all in 2024 and stick with 2023. Just too many decent new and old games out there to give lazy devs backing by playing their repackaged garbage.
