Re: MLB 24 Franchise team choice?
After careful consideration, I’ve decided my 2024 play every pitch every inning franchise is going to be a fantasy draft. I’ve done my favorite team (cubs), I’ve done an expansion team in 23’ and I’ve got a 1999 cubs roster on show 20.
This year, I’m doing a 30 team control fantasy draft. House rules are that pre-draft I’ll adding each team 2 archetypes randomly assigned. Then, use the pick recommendation tool to make selections…choosing the closest player to archetype.
What archetypes should I include?
- power hitting focus
- contact and speed
- defense and starting pitching
- bullpen
- rebuild tear down (no players above 75)
- young core (starters under 26)
- veterans (only draft over 29)Comment

Re: MLB 24 Franchise team choice?
Rockies are part of my list as it seems Nolan Jones is the new franchise player and they are picking 3rd in the draft. If I was to chose off your list I'd go Rockies or Marlins. Both tough divisions and if 2024 is like 2023 I believe the Marlins have good prospects that could be used as trade pieces. I don't think the Rockies have as much so it be a slower more draft oriented rebuildComment

NFL: MINNESOTA VIKINGS
NHL: TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
NBA: TORONTO RAPTORSComment

Re: MLB 24 Franchise team choice?
Love this thread and hearing how others approach their year-long franchise.
I'm doing the same thing I did last year. Play 162 with the Mets as well as random MLB Games throughout the year. Play all Postseason games alternating user-controlled teams. 30-team control so I handle all lineups, trade deadlines and injuries.
And then starting in 2025, I'll pick a team to rebuild and do the Play 1, Sim 5 to get through a couple of seasons.
I also have my RTTS player in my franchise universe, so I'll be playing every at-bat with that player. New for this year, I'm going to start him in MLB in 2024. He'll be 21 years-old and not a high overall. I found waiting 2+ years to get him to MLB took away my ability to play his full MLB career because I waste time in minors. I want him to struggle his first few years and then blossom into a star. When I start in the minors, my attributes progress to high so when he makes his debut, he's always ROY and soon to be All-Star/MVP.
Open to rebuilding suggestions, I did Pittsburgh last year and had a blast
I will be rebuilding the Colorado Rockies and bringing them back to Rock-tober! (Other 2 teams were Angels and Brewers)
Taking down the Dodgers for the first time is gonna be sweet (in 10 years after Ohtani retires)
I love their stadium, I always say how much I hate playing there because of the altitude and my pitchers getting their numbers blown up, I am looking forward to building a team that mashes and putting together my pitching staff full of hard throwing sinker ballers.Comment

Re: MLB 24 Franchise team choice?
I’ve narrowed it down to four options:
1) Red Sox. They’re my favorite team, I’ve never played as them in franchise, and they’ll probably come in last place but aren’t necessarily bottom feeders. I would probably roster control Ohtani onto the team because I’m extremely bitter about the ownership’s “full throttle” comment this offseason.
2) Reds. No gimmick, they’re just neat and I like them.
3) Oakland A’s. I’d keep them in Oakland and build them a new stadium. This is the least likely option because I’ve been watching a YouTube series where someone does this.
4) Giants. Again, no gimmick. They were my first franchise team in The Show 06 and I love their ballpark.Comment

Re: MLB 24 Franchise team choice?
After much internal deliberation, I went through each team and asked myself if I wanted to rebuild them. I narrowed it down to 3 teams and picked out of a hat.

Re: MLB 24 Franchise team choice?
Just pre ordered so looking forward to playing later tonight!
Gonna roll with my usual Guardians franchise out of the gate.
Hope to compete for the AL Central crown while trying to get J-Ram a MVP award. Got some question marks in the outfield and at SS but I like the talent we have in the minors to work with. Will actually play a few spring training games to figure out some position battles. Curious to see if Manzardo, Florian, Arias, Freeman, etc will make my OD roster.
I like to try and keep my team similar to real life so with the recent news of Espino being out for the year and one our key bullpen pieces, Stephan looking to miss a chunk of time, it will be interesting to see how our SP depth and bullpen shakes out and who will step up.
Like many here, I’m not thrilled with the lack of franchise news (from what we know so far) but regardless, I’m excited to start another year of my favorite game.
And like PsychoBulk’s thread mentioned, I believe I’m gonna jump in with the default rosters and start my franchise tonight or tmrw. I might add some players from the vault or edit some faces wherever needed but I’ve got the itch to get a franchise going and not look back.
Also, instead of slider chasing as I usually do, I’m gonna put pitching to Legend and for the first time, use dynamic difficulty for hitting. I’ll use those spring training games to get my settings dialed in and should be ready by the time opening day rolls around.
AL Central Champs…here we come! Lol
Happy Almost MLBTS Opening Day, fam!

Re: MLB 24 Franchise team choice?
Think I wanna follow in Psychos footsteps and just play immediately. Maybe grab a few CAP's for the international signings and go. Struggling to.decide on a team though.
Like a decent with a few decent prospects and will sign a player from time to time. Detroit, NYY, LAA, Toronto.
Leaning LAA and signing Snell to see if I can help Trout finally play meaningful ball games.Sacramento Kings San Diego Padres Dallas Cowboys Liverpool FC
