I am really enjoying my A’s franchise. I hate to give it up. Gameplay has never been better than it is with 23. As far as graphics, the Show is the only PS5 game I own. I guess if you don’t know what you’re missing then you don’t miss it.
Man, I really miss Y2Y saves, but I've sort of gotten used to it now, I guess.

I’m such a picky franchise player. Not only do I like a team that provides a challenge but I also look for, in no particular order…

      a nice stadium
      nice uniform selection
a challenged history (not to much success)
      tough division
divisional rivals have nice stadiums and uniforms
not much available budget to work with

No wonder I never stick with one team LOL.

Yeah, this is exactly how I go about my selections. Pretty cool.

Fantasy draft Braves franchise for me. I usually only use the Tigers, as they are my home team, but I'm getting bored with them at this point. I also recently started a fantasy draft franchise and have been having a blast so when 24 drops I'm all in for a fantasy draft with the Braves

Back with the Braves this year after a turn at the White Sox.

Got them to the World Series but fell short, should get a couple of deep runs at least with Atlanta.

I can see why Madden has no need for Y2Y carry-over saves but for basketball and baseball, it would only serve to drive sales up, just because of the sheer amount of games in a season. I actually wish 2K and Sony developers would partner up with each other, see if they can't combine their wisdom and brainstorm a new way to accomplish a better version of Y2Y. I know it would be great if EA joined in a brainstorming session too but I know when I played a ton of the old NCAAF series, I could get in 15 seasons in one year no problem.

Back on topic, I kind of hope Boras holds his free agents out until after the Default Roster goes gold. I'd love to spend some of Cohen's $ on some free agents the in real life Mets won't touch.

                I’m really mixing it up this year. Went with;

                Diamondbacks, then….
                Reds….

Going to do a Twins. Love their uniform selections and the stadium looks great. It will be a fantasy team with some players gone (Correa) and Kwan might make his way on my roster before the start of the season. I enjoy doing some cleansing of teams before I start. Never load my team up as I like the struggle. I’ll probably also rebrand a few teams.

Hey guys, didn't wanna start a separate thread for this, but was just wondering since we're talking about our teams and what-not, I was wondering how much (if any) do you sim vs play?

That's a whole lotta games to get through especially with Spring Training (which I like to play to evaluate my roster and bullpen)

So just wondering how you fellas handle the long season..my apologies if this in any way disrupts the original intention of this thread.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

I always sim spring training but rarely sim in season games. The more you sim, the less invested you become in your team.

I skip spring training. It IS a lot of games to play. I may start a game then QUICK MANAGE a game, but jump in as soon as there’s a runner on base for either the CPU, or me. Generally I will play them all. I’m retired so I have the time.

I sim the spring, but I let the sim stats decide my roster battles. I played a whole season every game last year. Took a long time.

I completely get that, I guess that's why I don't wanna sim Spring Training, as that gets me more involved and familiar with my team.

I guess I was mainly talking about multiple game series, will you play all the games, sim 1 then play, or just play the whole series.

Love this thread and hearing how others approach their year-long franchise.

I'm doing the same thing I did last year. Play 162 with the Mets as well as random MLB Games throughout the year. Play all Postseason games alternating user-controlled teams. 30-team control so I handle all lineups, trade deadlines and injuries.

And then starting in 2025, I'll pick a team to rebuild and do the Play 1, Sim 5 to get through a couple of seasons.

I also have my RTTS player in my franchise universe, so I'll be playing every at-bat with that player. New for this year, I'm going to start him in MLB in 2024. He'll be 21 years-old and not a high overall. I found waiting 2+ years to get him to MLB took away my ability to play his full MLB career because I waste time in minors. I want him to struggle his first few years and then blossom into a star. When I start in the minors, my attributes progress to high so when he makes his debut, he's always ROY and soon to be All-Star/MVP.

Open to rebuilding suggestions, I did Pittsburgh last year and had a blast

This year I'm attacking Spring Training differently than I have previously, I'm playing them but with generated quick counts on. As for the regular season I'm seriously considering playing one out of every three games and simming the other two out of three. If after one season of playing that way doesn't scratch my itch, I'll return to playing all 162.
