This is the stuff I was waiting for. Eyes and skintones look greatly improved on.

I also really like this line:

“Graphics and Character Team added some improvements to our skin and eye shaders to take advantage of updates to our updated lighting system that will appear in MLB The Show 24.”

So updates to the updated lighting system.
Call me intrigued because I haven’t really noticed yet in the videos.

Pretty good, new shaders for skins & eyes to support the new lighting system.

We saw the new shaders are amazing but curious what will be the new lighting system. Any time of the day game start ?

There we have it. Player models have been improved through redesigned lighting and textures at least on the faces. I’m really impressed with examples shown. Would love to see this tech integrated on equipment and uniforms in the future! This looks like a job well done. Maybe don’t take so long to show this off in the future. As many have said, the marketing seemed to be behind the curve this cycle. Or maybe I know nothing about marketing (highly likely).

Quick thing I noticed is no pitch clock in those rtts videos. Does this mean it is only going to apply to the user pitching? I hope not.

Secondly I welcome more defensive opportunities for rtts but if it’s still bugged with way to many bunts when you’re playing the corners and too many steals when you’re catching then it’s all kind of moot.

Which is generally how I feel about what I’ve seen so far. I welcome all of the additions they’ve been showing off but it’s frustrating when they don’t fix what’s already there. It’s like building a new addition on to your house before you fix the leaky roof in the existing house.

Really impressed with the updates to player faces! I’m a little concerned that they said “the results which are best seen on the player edit screen”. Shouldn’t the results look best on the field where they’ve implemented their new lighting system and not on an edit player screen??

Good question. Fielder-perspective RTTS has always been kind of a different beast so I wouldn't read too much into that alone. We've got a big chunk of gameplay to look over in this blog, so that will become clear soon enough.
