I understand what you're saying, but I think we at least give the women who love baseball the opportunity to create women CAPs in their franchises.

EDIT: If players want true immersion, hopefully y'all are good with women managers / coaches showing up in franchise mode, etc.
I think the coaches would be an awesome addition, I wish they had more coaches, editable coaches, etc

Turns out we may have the first woman player in the MLB (minor leagues) soon enough: https://twitter.com/francysromerofr/...34457311150535. I didn't realize Kelsie Whitmore, who currently plays Indy ball for the Staten Island Ferry Hawks, has been in talks with MLB teams this past offseason.

Yeah, I feel like the first successful woman is going to play second base. Throwing 60'6'' is no joke. It takes one helluva strong arm to be a successful pitcher. I think I saw where currently almost a third of all pitchers have already had Tommy John surgery. Maybe if Whitmore had Tammy Jane surgery right now, her stats would improve.

Dont forget the .038 batting clip, with 3 hits from 79 at bats.

Itll make for good PR i suppose...

15 year old high schoolers throw from 60'6". I don't think we'll see a woman throwing 100 mph out there, and velocity is going to be the limiting factor. But the distance between the mound and home plate isn't. There is a 19 yo woman in Australia who is 6'2" and has been recorded hitting 85.9 on her fastball (and she did this a year ago, when she was 18). I don't think it's outlandish to think that she (or another talent girl in the US where there are pitching coaches everywhere) could creep into the low 90s where they've got a chance to pitch at really high levels.

Maybe this broken barrier is closer than I thought. I figured it was a good fifty years away from happening. I wanted to live to see it but I almost accepted I'd be long gone. These are indeed interesting times in baseball. Clocks, ghost runners, National League DH's, women, before I realize it, there might be 32 teams and metal bats the next time I poke my head out of the sand.

I never said she should be signed, just pointing out teams are reaching out to her. Regardless of whether or not she signs, my point from my original post is that we're going to have a woman playing professional baseball at some point in the near future (before 2035 imo).

My only concern is that if they add a female to a minor league roster it is warranted , not just a publicity stunt. When the Mets added Tim Tebow that was just to sell tickets. Yeah he hit a HR here and there but come on that dude has no business being in spring training camp that one year. And I like Tebow the person, the college QB , great guy but I mean baseball player not so much

Yeah, Tebow, MJ, were like most minor leaguers and never had any real chance to pan out. I'd probably put Whitmore's chance of reaching the majors at the same as Jordan, Tebow and a thousand other minor leaguers in any given year that never even get a cup of coffee in the Show. They are there as filler and competition to give the real prospects a workout.

Right now though where women are really succeeding is in front offices. The lady in Florida was a GM, Mets had Jessica Mendoza,
Coaches now for sure. Do we have a female.umpire yet ?

Yeh, Jen Pawol. Working ST and AAA this year. As for the Marlins Ng, the Mets should have jumped at bringing her into the fold.

And actually my point is.....she better deserve it...because those numbers don't.

I was never implying you thought she should be signed.

Also I don't disagree we may get one or two......possibly.

But consider how difficult it already is to be on a 26 man roster.

                            Just saying.
