And I definitely wouldn't expect him to move to the infield any time soon. I'd think if it did happen, it would be more like Bryce Harper and he move to First when he's much older. Kinda surprised the Phillies don't play Harper strictly at DH. I also wouldn't think Soto would play firstbase until long after Alonso (if, big if) decides to leave NY. Still, in my franchise, if Soto's fielding defense rating falls into the fifties, I'll definitely move him to first. That's a lot easier decision on my part than it would be the IRL Mets.
If Harper didn’t tear his UCL, he’d still be in the OF. He’s actually looking at moving back to OF soon if the Phillies choose to sign a 1B or move Schwarber there to give their lineup more flexibility.

But I don’t see anything wrong with moving Soto to first in the game. Especially since Alonso is actually a DH that the Mets keep playing at 1B for some reason.

Schwarber should definitely be the one at first and Harper back in the OF.
I think Soto is still young enough his fielding attribute will still progress higher so I'm probably panicking too early and won't need to move Soto out of the outfield until 2030, lol.

What would be much more preferable is play Alonso at first and DH and play Vientos at first when Alonso DH's. But then I'm not so hyped about using Baty at third. What I may do is see about packaging Baty and McNeil in a trade and see if I can get some pitching help in exchange.

Man, I don't know what I'm going to do now. I can't afford to have Francisco Alvarez out all of April. Luis Torrens is NOT ready for primetime. He's alright well enough to spell Alvarez from time to time but he's not ready to carry the water. My season may be shot before I get out of the gate, lol.

The best option may be to pick up a veteran free agent like Yasmani Grandal. He"s not what he used to be but a switch hitter that could be decent for a stretch.

Torrens is a career .230 hitter and solid behind the plate. He’s more than serviceable and I don’t think his ratings are too low in the game.

If he can get me to maybe the middle of May and I stay over .500, that's all I can ask.

Re: MLB the Show 25 The Mets

Soto has a shot to go to first base but a lot will have to do with what happens with the Mets and Vlad Jr also.

Torrens is what it is. Nothing great but he will play a lot. The Mets really have no other true young catcher waiting in the wings. Yovanny Rodriguez is still years away. I personally do not believe Alvarez will ever lead up to the hype. But that is nothing more than my own gut feeling

Mets will live or die this year by the rotation and bullpen. Diaz to me looks like a shell of his former shelf

Or…you can start in spring training and pretend the injury never happened…

Pretty much what I do. Real life injuries don’t apply to my franchise, it’s my own fantasy world!

This is how I roll every year. Every player is "uninjured" when I start franchises.

Re: MLB the Show 25 The Mets

Yeah I don’t like playing with real life injuries. I want my franchise to feel like its own universe.

I do a random injury generator and see what kind of luck each team has throughout the year.

I wish there was a way to turn off Minor League injuries because those can become a slog and annoying to fix each day but MLB injuries are crucial because without them there are no callups/send downs for rookies to get cup of coffee.

But real life injuries take away from my video game mindset and I try to replicate real life too much

He’s in but it looks nothing like him. Only Hefner and Barnes have scans. He probably never went for one (I don’t see why managers would get scanned anyway). Maybe it will be updated later to look more like him.
