I think we all need to understand what happened last year with the run to the NLCS hurt us in some ways. Sterns put together a roster of projects last year and it just happened to ALL work out. Now he thinks he can do that every year with the likes of Holmes, Montas, etc. Soto was a great get but I believe was Cohen getting it done more than Sterns.
The Mets right now if we are being realistic are a third place team in the division. We have zero Soto protection, we need 2 good bullpen arms not projects. A Tanner Scott would be nice and we truly have no ace. Plus we need a DH from the left hand side. Like Winker would be nice, Not so much with Verdugo
Sterns is not likely to make a trade' He has already stated the rotation is likely done. He likes to hug prospects which I do not agree with at all. He also does not like long term deals on pitching which I also do not like. This is not Milwaukee
I feel like this game he is playing with Alonso is getting out of hand. I get it, He wants Alonso for one year only so he can then go after either Vlad Jr or Murakami. I get it I want one of those guys also. But as Jim D said yesterday. Cohen needs to step in and tell Sterns get this Alonso deal done. I mean Alonso is practically begging to come back at this point
