Wow you came on here to make a meaningless comment Which has nothing to do with the thread itself but you criticize the same thread.

The thread is on the off season moves of the Mets and how they will impact the roster and finances of the Mets in next years game. If it wasn't for the fact that the Mets haven't finalized all their moves I would have been posting game results and the roster files from the new rosters.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT PEOPLE ARE SO USED TO SEEING PEOPLE MAKE THREADS ON SILLY STUFF THAT WHEN SOMEONE MAKES A THREAD ON HOW ACTUAL BASEBALL MOVES RELATE TO THE GAME ROSTERS THEY SAY IT DOESN'T BELONG. CRAZY.

It is just a place for Mets fans to discuss the rosters on the game as the off season progresses.

Plus this time of year this forum is dead anyways because it is the off season. Any discussion during this time of year on this forum has to be on the off season because we don't even have a release date yet.

Yeah, usually I dont keep the new reliever additions the Mets pick up in a new season, for my franchise. But personally, I have always liked Minter, I'm keeping him tho. Gonna get a lot of use out of him.

Heck, I'd venture so far as to say it isnt just for us Mets franchise guys. People who want to post here how they are going to fleece us out of Soto or Lindor or whomever, in a lopsided trade, should feel welcome to. But know this, hear me now and believe me later, I will beat your team in my franchise like a drum. Esp. Cleveland.

I think we should have 30 team discussion threads in this forum, not the Pro Baseball one.As long as you say 'as pertains to this videogame' every now and then.

I don't think we need all thirty. I don't think the A's and Marlins have even one fan to discuss their MLBTS experience, lol.
The Mets, however... the proof is in the pudding.

The mets are a perfect example of why MLB needs a serious payroll cap like all the other pro sports.

The Dodgers were fifth in 2024 payroll according to Spotrac. It looks like what the Mets and MLB needs is better fuzzy math to keep up with the Dodgers creative accounting.

What the Dodgers did with Ohtani's contract should've never been allowed.

Why not? Every other team has been doing it for years, they just happened to get one of the best players of his generation.

I can’t stand the Dodgers, but they are playing within the rules.

Not sure if a player ever had a contract that is dispersed like Ohtani's though, maybe I'm wrong, but 2 mil./pr. for 10 yrs. and then 68 mil/pr. for the next 10 just shouldn't be allowed.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

This is really just a thread for Met fans talking about Met things was my impression

The Dodgers are now at 375 million with the lux tax. Mets have not even hit 300 yet

Soto is going to regret coming to the Mets. Sterns can not build a Dodger style team with signings of Montas , Holmes (As a starter), Megill, Canning. Using Winker and Nimmo as Soto protection. I mean we just can not get a break. We finally have a rich owner and he hired a GM who thinks he works for the Coupons

under pro baseball then in official team threads I did have a New York Mets thread up that had not been used since 2023. I did just post in it if any Met fans want to chat it up there ofc if not no biggie.

When Scherzer signed with the Mets, he was still getting $15 mil/yr from the Nationals and will be getting it until 2028. So not Ohtani money but still a lot.

Also my point is that every other owner in baseball can do this. People get mad at the Dodgers, but the real reason is MLB owners are cheap and refuse to spend because they’d rather collect the luxury tax money from the big spenders and pocket it instead of reinvesting in their team.

People should be mad at John Fisher for refusing to spend money for the A’s until they left Oakland just because he wanted to hold the city and their fans hostage. What Bob Nutting and crew have done with the Pirates should be criminal since they refuse to spend any money. The cheap owners are a much larger problem than the Dodgers or Mets.
