Microsoft always stated they want to get out of the console business. Their plan has always been to push cloud gaming so that it’s less about the hardware and their games can be accessed much easier. They were the first to push digital only purchases and have been pushing cloud gaming for at least 3-5 years. The only issue was the connection of their users and server space.

And by buying up some of the game studios, it ends up being cheaper for them in the long run.

Xbox as a console is dead.
They’re becoming more and more a publisher and the Game Pass model just isn’t working in the gaming industry. A season of a television show is like 6 months production time where a triple A game is like 3-4 years development so the Netlfix model (or whatever other streaming service) is just not sustainable unless you’re going to ask really high subscription models.

Every year game pass is not reaching it target. They want to be at 100mil but are stuck at around 34mil.

I think they should've gone "middle of the road" of sorts for non-console players. Keep it available on Game Pass (Ultimate), but make it purchase only to play instead of part of the catalog. I would've done that.

That’s already an option for some games, who knows if it will be available for The Show 25. You still need GP Ultimate, but you can stream games you own digitally that are not on GP.

That was the whole point of my post. They already said it's not a GP Ult. on the PC option.

I'm not very excited about this. I feel like they haven't really moved the pin at all on this game.

I always played on gamepass and then bought when heavily discounted every year.

I wanted improved player models and bullpen logic the most.I expect more for franchise,which is great,but for the guys that like to play the games and struggle to get through one season every year because they're on to other sports games,this probably won't do much.

It's more logical for some to continue playing '24 until '25 has a price drop.
