Also, praying they increase the difficulty or add slider for pinpoint pitching. Really enjoy using it, as it keeps me in the game, but was too easy last couple of years.
Not sure if you’ve done this, but for pinpoint, I turn off the ball cursor and controller vibration so that it’s mostly a guess of where the ball is going to be. I started walking a lot more hitters that way and wasn’t also so close to the zone while still getting a realistic amount of Ks.

Definitely a good tip. I turned off the cursor and vibration a long time ago, and did help, but still can pitch in the general area without missing as much as I would like. Had CPU contact at 8 or 9 (haven't played in a while), but wasn't walking nearly enough. Especially with low confidence and not a great pitcher.

I'd like to see more of a challenge when following the pinpoint path and tempo, so a great pitcher is easier and more consistent, and a poor pitcher really struggle with consistency.

To me, the more sliders you give the user, the better. And increment them more than 10. With more precision, we could all achieve what we want, and I imagine less complaints would be had.

You just aren't seeing as many AA titles coming out from up and coming devs, it is too much of a risk.

Games just cost so much to make, and game prices over the last 20 years have hardly seen that increase, which is why the gaming market is loaded with battlpasses, micro transactions, and all of the sports card collecting modes fall into that category.

But to say the console market is dying Is just not factual.
There is a real possibility that a game like GTA 6 jumps the standard price of a game to $80 USD.

          Console revenue

          2006: $20Bill
          2014: $23 Bill
          2022: $30 bill

I also read an article that TikTok now consumes an average of 38min of time per day of the youth that otherwise could or would’ve gone into gaming. So kids nowadays also have more screens that consume their time.

Drat, just another icon i hope can be turned off. I'd be satisfied with the same game from last year just with the ability to turn off all fielding icons/prompts especially that blue fielding circle...would love just me and the scorebug (e.g. would love to play everything manual/manual but it look like auto/auto). The ability to turn off the HR camera would be a welcomed bonus as well.

Reading through the last few pages here and makes me very appreciative to have grown up with video games, so to speak. Being able to experience the joy and wonder of the NES, Genesis, PS2, etc. is something that I just don't see happening again.

My PS5 sits unused for longer stretches of time than any console prior to it. Now, there's a few other reasons for this, but the staleness of sports games and lack of must-have 1st and 3rd party games makes it easier for me to just do other things with my time.

I have to disagree. Minus sports games, games released last year i played that were solid include dragons dogma 2, star wars outlaws, stellar blade, black myth wukong, helldivers 2, ff rebirth, dragon age veilguard and horizion forbidden dawn (which was a remaster). I think there was plenty of new releases to play last year.

The irony in the opening statement is rich. Saying how things have to evolve, and as he's saying it the most stale, ugly, flat, outdated and uninspiring game play clips flash across the screen. I almost thought it was a meme for a second and he was going to finish the sentence with "But not us!"

On a more serious note I find it actually insulting that the game looks like it does. Especially when they are going on about evolving. That would've been a good trailer 10ish years ago.

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer

After that gameplay deep dive I’m quite underwhelmed.

“Ambush Hitting” seems pretty adjacent to “Guess Pitch”. Nearly feels like the same thing.

The other gameplay improvements seem negligible. Throwing meters revamped are ok I guess? Same with fielder reactions etc.

But honestly my gripes with this franchise have rarely been anything to do with gameplay as I feel it’s in a very nice spot. Any improvements we do get are welcomed.

I would love to see an animation overhaul however. I’m seeing the same ones in this trailer I have since MLB 15.

Same flaws as "Guess Pitch," too. The fact that we know the location well before the pitch even arrives is not something that is provided to MLB hitters, unless somehow you hear the catcher moving around back there or you're the Astros.

If I understand it correctly, i dont think it actually tells you if you guess correctly....I think it just gives you a larger PCI on the part of the plate that you choose to "ambush" and a smaller PCI on the opposite half.

The way RoFlo explained it didn't seem to match what was going on on the screen - it looked like the PCI was changing size prior to the pitch being thrown based on where the user moved it too

That would make more sense. Thanks.

I questioned that a little bit myself, but after you stated it I am more inclined to agree.
