Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
So, unless I'm interpreting it wrong, the graphic enhancements are exclusive to PS5/PS5 Pro? No love for Series X? I planned on buying the game for Series X; but if this is the case then I'll pass. There was a time when I probably would have copped a PS5 for this game. That time has passed. Too late in this gen's cycle for that and not enough improvements for me to spend $600 on another system for one game.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
Can they make enhancements on the pro but not the base PS5 since they're both the same system? I have no clue how any of that works. I would assume the only thing the pro would do different would be better frame rate. But again I have no idea how this stuff works.Last edited by bronxbombers21325; 02-05-2025, 09:09 AM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
Yes they can. They can improve a lot more than just the frame rate on pro. Not saying they will for the show but there’s a lot of games with graphical improvements other than frame rate for the pro. On the psn store the show is labeled as ps5 pro enhanced that’s why I believe the improvements are mostly just for the pro console not the base ps5.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
I'm an offline, exhibition\season\franchise player. I no longer matter one bit to the companies making sports games.
Every franchise is the same story. Focus on those willing to "subscribe" to your product. They don't want my $70 and then see me disappear while I go play the game. They want "engagement" for the "brand", which really means they want more of your money in the form of multiple overpriced variations of the game, card packs, etc.. They want a monetary IV drip hooked up to your wallet.
The sports gaming industry no longer cares for my measly $70. I am some relic from days past.
I want to play 7 inning games. I want to play less than 162 games in a season. I want my own music and sounds in the game again. I want a stadium atmosphere with things like crowd chants and organ music. I want something that feels fresh and fun. I don't care if they triple the number of blades of grass n the field or if a 99 OVR card of a player is released for a mode I'll never play.
It's a sad reality that with so much technology and how big the gaming industry has become that there no place for a sports gamer like me anymore. It's either stick with '22 or move back to SMB or MLB 2k13.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
One thing that might help the community and foster some goodwill is if someone at SDS could be interviewed and asked about these issues that folks have been documenting here.
Not in a combative way, but it would be great to hear the logic and reasoning why stadium creator is not being enhanced, or why the dirt and grass textures look the same, or bullpen logic, etc. Just explanations on why things are not being addressed or taking longer than we had hoped.
An explanation from SDS on these things would go miles for the community. No one likes to feel like they are being ignored, so having the pointed questions asked and answered would help quell the fires.
I notice most interviews done are really just "tell us about all the improvements and new things in the game" type interviews where the team pretty much just uses it as a marketing tool to show off what they added...no talk about why other things did not get "fixed".
Maybe someone here at OS could approach them? Steve? Chase?Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
Got a ps5 pro yesterday. I wasn't expecting a huge difference from the base ps5 but I was wrong. College football looks so much better and plays better. I was hoping to see more graphical improvements but based off of college football, I'm excited for the show on the pro. I also think if they redo a lot of the animations, especially the running, the game will feel fresh. Also, optimistic about "ShowTech" and the audio enhancements.
You can trade in/sell your base ps5 for $300. I don't know why people think they have to pay the full $700.Comment

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

That's not what my post was asking about. They can cherry pick who they want to answer. I'd prefer an organized interview by a respected member of this website like Steve or Chase or other admins.Comment
