2006 Day 1 The Show Player here, let me tell you my OPINION and my issues with this...

The game has played and felt nearly identical since 17. That is the problem. I look at Pro Baseball Spirits and wonder how can Konami do this, but SDS cannot. The Show USED to be the absolute best of everything. Now, they are only the best in gameplay. Game Modes and Graphics belong to Konami with PBS. It is one thing to update an engine and graphics every 4 years or so.. it has been EIGHT YEARS since the game has seen any significant improvements to game engine/graphics. EVERY SINGLE other sports game has done it, Madden, NHL, 2K and especially Pro Baseball Spirits with Konami.. so why can SDS not do it? After 4 years, sure... after EIGHT -- unacceptable. You might not like the gameplay, but the graphics in all of these games far exceed The Show. Also, let me make myself clear, I AM NOT A GRAPHICS ONLY GUY -- BUT, I am a guy who would like to feel like I am playing a "new" game every 3-4 years, NOT EIGHT!

I appreciate the updated game modes.. but why does Konami blow these modes out of the water? PBS has HIGH SCHOOL baseball. It also has a full ball park mode, a version of diamond dynasty, a MUCH better and in-depth Franchise Mode, and a Star Player mode VASTLY more than RTTS.. the depth is not even close. The game has MUCH better graphics, and MUCH better atmosphere to make the game feel alive. Why is it SDS cannot do this?

These are all my opinions, but as a die hard/hardcore fan of this series and ALWAYS my favorite, I am really getting frustrated what feels like playing the same game for the last eight years. Gotta do better SDS.

Right the gameplay video was probably from weeks or days ago.... I'm sure we'll see the improved grass and dirt shown off in one of the feature premiers.

And I saw that Franchise has it's own Deep Dive on 2/25!!

Well, I've looked through the PSN listing for 25 and I'm not sure where you are seeing this. Can you post a screenshot?

But the fact that it says PS5 and not specifically PS5 PRO only is good news I suppose if this updated dirt and grass is true.

I'm pretty concerned that it isn't on the Xbox page. No one seems to be talking about this either. Are PS players going to get better graphics than Xbox players just because SDS is a part of Sony?

Here's my main concern with the baserunner sliding swim moves.... I hope that it not as easy to 100% like pinpoint pitching AND I hope that maybe this option is reserved only for high attribute baserunning aggressiveness/stealing players.

I don't need Pete Alonso swim moving me to avoid the tag 90 percent of the time.

I'm on PS5 either way, but I would have to imagine that any updated dirt and grass would also be implemented on Xbox.

I see that updated dirt and grass thing now on the listing in the Playstation mobile app... I was looking at the listing on the site and it doesn't show up there.

The engine has to be maxed out on what they can do graphically. I don't know any other reason for the game to look the same for 10 years across multiple consoles.

Every year the game has some added gimmicks as a selling point and this year is no different. Last year it was Negro Leagues. This year it's high school and college baseball. It's basically a way of selling the game without having to actually improve it. Look at the franchise improvements in the psn description - improved trade logic. Literally nothing.

Ambush hitting? A board game??? Revised throwing meter???? All gimmicky nonsense to sell the game and to detract from the fact that it's the exact same game for the last ten years with little to no graphical improvements.

Looks the exact same for like 7 years now. I’m not even exaggerating. They can’t even add pullover jerseys or old school cleats. Been looking for a reason to comeback to the show. But I’ll stick with super mega baseball until these dudes start making improvements to anything outside of diamond dynasty.

The cpu generated photos on the scoreboard are pretty rough…another huge difference with PBS. At this point we may need to bring in DOGE to clean house in the graphics department and start fresh.

Does anyone know why this text below is on the PlayStation order page and not Xbox? Are Xbox players going to get shafted on graphics?
