Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
It's a small thing, but, as a Giants fan, I gotta point out that no updates have been made to Oracle Park again. Still using the old Jumbotron graphics from 2020-2022, it seems.
What the Jumbotron layout should look like:
Spoiler
SpoilerMLB: San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics (Sell The Damn Team, Fisher!)
NFL: San Francisco 49ers
NHL: San Jose Sharks
MLS: San Jose Earthquakes
EPL: Brentford FC

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
Just thought about something... I'm wondering if SDS is hoping for some double dipping sales this year after dropping last gen support... Why else would they have no physical collectors edition, instead having only the digital deluxe version for early access, while the physical standard limited edition with the special Topps now cards have no early access at all?
So if you want to play the game early, gotta drop 100. But if you want that Topps card, gotta drop 70 also... and conveniently for SDS pocketbooks, there's no digital upgrade path to get both the physical standard limited edition plus early access and all the DD goodies (however they could end up doing that since it'd be a March 18 release) [emoji848]

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
It’s like that with every stadium. They aren’t going to change those graphics much because teams usually swap them every year or two and they’d have to use art resources that would otherwise be used for new scans, uniforms, UI menus, and other things to make sure they kept those up to date for each team. Seems like they update them every time a stadium gets a big enough makeover.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
I would hope they would put in the actual stadium that the A’s will be playing in since they’re going to be there for a while. I can’t imagine them doing anything other than the Trop for the Rays since it’s just a one year thing.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
When will they revamp the pitching already. The guys in the trailer looked like they were playing soft toss. i would like for the pitchers to be more deliberate and there to be more unique movement on all pitches. Every pitchers off-speed/breaking ball don't break the exact same way.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
Absolutely disappointed. I’m a franchise player, all team control, and I don’t see any improvements at all. The graphics and atmosphere are the most important to me, as the gameplay is sufficient for my tastes. Roster logic isn’t coming anyway, which should actually be the number one priority.
When I have a close game like last year, my hands are sweating in the 9th inning, and I need an out with the score 2-1 and three players on base, I couldn’t care less about the atmosphere or the graphics.
However, as a franchise player, I play so many games that boredom quickly sets in. By the third inning, you can already tell you’re going to lose, the opponent is boring, etc. THAT’S when the atmosphere and graphics matter. Because the game itself isn’t offering much, but at least you can admire the beautiful grass, the nice lights, or enjoy when your team hits a homerun with a 6-0 lead, and it creates a little bit of excitement.
The fact that the presentation doesn’t seem to be changing is also a letdown.
Especially the first sequence with the stadiums, when the ball is in play, looks like a PS3 game. It’s just a green, undefined mass.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
Anyway, we see them add some additional things that we can put beyond the outfield walls sure, but often requested updates like domes, bullpen locations, distance markers and home run lines on the walls, etc. are a no go. Ah, well. I'm still happy that we have it in the first place and I remember how ecstatic I was watching the first videos about it.Comment

I would give SDS some real credit if they built out each of these parks... I'm hoping it happens, but wouldn't be totally shocked if it didn't.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 25 Gameplay Trailer
I’m sure everyone here will agree, they should just stop making the game at this point. If there aren’t going to be drastic improvements, it would be better to have no MLB game at all than whatever this is supposed to be.Comment

I do suspect MLB subsidies the game development each year and without that I don’t SCEA considers it a meaningful investment."Life is like baseball, it's the number of times you arrive home safely that counts"Comment
