Re: Player you hate using but is tied to a mission
Impact Veteran Mike Scott. It's not that I hate using him, because he's mostly everything I want in a pitcher. It's that everything falls apart around him every single game he pitches. Just finished a game where the team had 6 errors behind him.
-All Star Johnathan Lucroy throw sails over second into CF
-Cesar Hernandez throws wide of first
-Cesar Hernandez drops a pop fly
-Michael Conforto drops an easy fly ball
-Breakout Tony Gwynn drops a line drive hit right to him
-Rookie Nolan Arenado throws Andrelton Simmons off the bag
lost 4-3Comment

Re: Player you hate using but is tied to a mission
I'm up to the final mission for the Reds epic where i have to get 25 hits with Johnny Bench. Not hard to do on rookie but this will be a long annoying grind. I got a bunch of team epic missions to complete up to 3 so at least I'm playing the cpu and getting stuff done.
The Rangers epic with Nelson Cruz is tough.Comment

Hit 5 homeruns with all star Justin Upton is ridiculously hard now since they nerfed the hitting down pretty bad. Playing on rookie difficulty is now like playing on all star.Comment

Just put Bench at leadoff and quit the game after his first at bat and start another one. I did that with 30 hits with Harold Reynolds and I got a hit about 1 every 2.5 times and it took about an hour and a half. Just do a CPU game and if you don't want the loss stat for the pitcher just start your scrubs.

Re: Player you hate using but is tied to a mission
Can't wait to be done with Impact Veterans so I can dump V. Mart. The guy absolutely rakes, but his defence and refusal to even jog to first base annoys me more than just about anything.
I've been repeatedly thrown out at second after hitting it to the wall in the left/right centerfield gaps, don't even think about making a turn if you rocket one down the line and you are dead to rights if you happen to smash it into the pitcher, no matter where the ball ricochets someone will be able to go and pick it up and casually throw you out by 10 feet. Defensively he is just horrendous as well, if it's not hit straight at him he's got no chance, if it is straight at him then it's 50/50Comment

I'm starting to feel that way about Veteran Posada [emoji20] dude crushes the call but he's cost my runs on the base paths and he's an absolute liability behind the plate.

Re: Player you hate using but is tied to a mission
I got through his pretty easy , was able to do it in one game but the last patch nerfed power so much that even hitting bombs on rookie is difficult so you will have a tougher time of it.
I'm having the same issue with AS Justin Upton , played up to 20 games on rookie and still haven't hit any long balls with him. Nothing but weak liners or bouncing off the wall just under the line.Comment

Directional hitting maybe ? I changed to directional hitting with buttons just to do the Upton mission and it made a massive difference in hitting.Comment

Re: Player you hate using but is tied to a mission
I use Directional almost exclusively. Got the challenge though. Then in the next game after I hit 7 home runs since I didn't need any for any challengeComment
