Can anyone give me a quick run down of how diamond dynasty works? What’s the best way to make your roster better, should I be playing online, etc?

Ive played m fifa ultimate team and NBA 2k my team and thought I’d give diamond dynasty a try but it seems a little different than those other modes.

I started the fan domination thing and landed a stadium card after winning my First game vs cpu.

I completed his mission, got hit with a server error and haven't played since.

Yeah its different. I play a ton of FUT and I'd say the biggest difference is the grind is very gameplay based, unlike FUT where its all about playing the market.

1) Get the free legend cards. If you go through the immortal/career arc missions you will see that certain cards are already available (ie Ruth, Gibson, Utley, Lee Smith etc). You can immediately put those in your team and grind towards their missions. For example for Lee Smith you need 10 IP, 10 K and 10 SV, which you can do while playing conquest (more on that later).

2) Pick a couple of immortal programs and work towards them. As an example, let's say that you want Mike Piazza. To get Piazza, you need to complete the Gary Carter career arc, and to get that you need the Derek Norris/Jarrod Saltalamacchia player programs. So start from the bottom and work your way up. Some of them are frustrating.

I'd suggest focusing on two position player immortals, one starting pitcher and one relief pitcher. You'll notice that in some cases the immortal player programs aren't that specific (ie for one of the Bob Gibson ones you just need 7 saves with St Louis Cardinals pitchers) so keep those in mind.

Also keep in mind that some programs aren't able to progress due to a lack of content. As a Jays fan I wanted the '93 Molitor card but after working towards it a bunch I've realized it can't be unlocked until they release another player program for it which kind of sucks.

3) Play conquest. You can take over the entire board without having to steal fans etc (there's some videos on Youtube), and then you only need to play the strongholds, of which you can play most of them on rookie (and the rest on veteran). From that you get some decent usable online cards (80+ Benoit, A-Gonzalez, Desmond and Estrada).

Since you're playing on rookie, your entire team should be either conquest mission players (that you unlock as you take over strongholds), or players that you're using to try to accomplish the aforementioned programs. As another example, the Billy Wagner program requires that you need 200 holds and 75 saves from left handed pitchers. As such, if you want to go towards that program, fill you entire bullpen with lefties and you can get up to 5 holds and a save in each conquest game.

4) Work the market. Its kind of garbage right now with TSN being down, but the best way to make stubs is by flipping. The market is entirely bid/ask, so the short term goal is to find cards with a nice profit gap, where you can buy them and then flip them at a profit (there's a 10% seller tax). At the start of the game its usually best to do this with equipment since people constantly buying them for their RTTS characters, but that has died down a bit over the past couple of days.

The longer term market move is to stock up on players who you think will have increased ratings. Unlike FUT/MyTeam, there are no 'in-form' cards for players. Instead their ratings update and you keep the cards. For example, let's say Gary Sanchez has a huge April. He's currently rated an 84 gold card, but could get boosted to an 86/87 diamond card. If that's the case, he will be far more rare in packs and his price will increase a ton. Its a similar thing with silver to gold cards. You can own duplicates so if you pick a silver/common card you like, you can buy hundreds of them and wait to cash out.

Hopefully that made some sense.

I'm also working on conquest. It's the only diamond dynasty mode I play and I am enjoying the setup of the new programs and missions within it.

I finally got the George Brett one (had to play on rookie to get it). I'm working on the JD Martinez one now and it's been really tough. Looking forward to trying to get it accomplished tonight.

I just unlocked Adrian Gonzalez so I have a ways to go.

Working on the Mike Piazza and Nolan Ryan missions. In the early stages with the catchers and pitchers. I usually play on rookie to grind out the missions but is anyone noticing that rookie is harder than veteran this year? All my rookie ganes are 2-1 pitching duels but when I play on veteran I’m putting up 20 hits and 8-10 runs a game.

I hated the George Brett missions. I couldn't hit a double for my life with him and his 30 power. Even on rookie, I couldn't get him to hit any power.

To be honest I've kind of done al the missions I'm not priced out of. I don't really want to spend 2k on a silver jersey in order to get a one game mission, nor do I want to spend thousands on jerseys or hats to trade in for 5% of one of the bigger missions. I've got a few grindy ones to work on and I've done a lot of the cheaper small programs, but I figure I might just play conquest again and see what happens to the market over the next week or two

For conquest I am having a hard time with Shawn Green and the Harold Baines one as well....2 put outs?? I put him in center...LF gets them all...I put him in LF...CF gets them all....I can't win.....not to mention in a 3 inning game I don't have a whole lot of balls even going to the OF....lol

Green has been problematic because I keep getting LH starters.....and he can't hit them...at all....

I'm having same issue with Baines. The one time I got it the server cut out and my game didn't count. No problem getting the hit but the putouts are tougher. I might try putting him at catcher next (don't catchers get putouts for K's?)
