I’ve been playing a couple BR games a day. Doing really good for barely playing anymore. I have no desire to do any offline grinding. I think I’m kinda done this year. I’m playing BR because I enjoy it, but I’m not even interested in the rewards. Overall, had a fun year but I definitely fell off earlier than last year. It’ll be interesting to see if sets are back next year. I think I liked collections better last year but I did like TA and programs never expiring this year. This year they made it way harder to get stubs no money spent, which really sucked and probably played a role in me not investing my time as much.

I would like to get diehgo but if It doesn't look like I'll get enough for him then I'll sell off all my set 3 cards I don't use. So I've kept a high stub count by flipping everything when the seasons change.
I also WAS pretty good about putting sell orders in on every single pack I opened and basically holding zero dupes but I've gotten lazy lately on that since I have more stubs than stuff I need to buy with themComment

Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition
Got Fernando and Griffey Jr. in the same game by winning another Mini Series - done with Extreme, and hitting really well with Junior in the event. If I didn't get Griffey there, I had another 20 points coming from Marte, Cain and the 10 XP. Didn't touch Showdown or half the moments, and beat Conquest in 3 turns.
Also mashing with Adley, I don't think i'll miss Mauer much.
I've got 230K stubs, and the question is really Devers or DeGrom. I bought Soto and Satchel on the last day of Ranked, and so I could make a great profit on Soto. Hitting great with him though, so I'm going to use Satchel a bit and try and buy low on one of the guys I want.
Looking forward to next season, because I have no motivation to play BR or Ranked right now (18-2 currently). Too much work travel coming up to make it to the end of Ranked, so we'll see what September brings.
I'm at that point where the grind is starting to feel like a grind ...Comment

I think ill buy degrom and devers....I'll be losing wright and chipper because im gonna wildcard mantle
so right now I guess my default 3B would be Jram in the new season but I was real good with the first devers even lefty/lefty despite the lesser powerComment

I've only used satchel in co-op and he wasn't really shut down and I've only played like 5 co-op games so i'm pretty low in the difficulty...i'm not sure if its all on all star or not. But I'll be losing verlander and randy so I'll keep him for the rare occasion i do a solo ranked.Comment

I played br this morning and got a good bit done but I swear like every 3rd player was flawless 🤬
I went flawless once two years ago, I'm way better now and can't go flawless anymoreComment

Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition
I just finished the 'West' conquest. It was a b****.
I've come to the opinion that conquest is quite stupid. I despise clicking the little hexagons.
Part of me misses the romanticism of a solo franchise, but I've gotten so used to mixing it up with all these diamond players, it would be jarring to go hit with 76's and whatnot.
So, I'm pretty much sticking to Mini Seasons and mixing in Ranked here and there, with the occasional Showdown. I completed the Moonshot program yesterday. From the 2nd challenge onward, I really really had to pee, but I kept saying "I'll go after this challenge" and that kept happening all the way to Grayson.
Prize ended up being a Rizzo 97, which is a nice card, but not sure I'll ever use it because I'm loving my Giambi/Buck O'neill platoon.Comment

Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition
Ive been playing alot of ranked lately and man i am so inconsistent hitting and being patient . It's really been frustrating but i am actually having fun using different pitchers and players . I'm trying to get my Dylan Carlson to P5 and them ill replace him in my lineup for Griffey or Carroll or Hank Thompson . I think im at 70 points in the program so hopefully i can get this done this weekend and then dive into BR i guess before season 4 starts .Comment

Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition
Finally got all the team affinity 3 exchanges done... Just in time for TA 4 lmao. I'm gonna be heated if we get a better Olson since I'm doing this all basically for the ASG card.
But still have the showdowns and Conquest for Central and West to do. I think that will get me to him or at least close.
Been busy with work again until I switch jobs and haven't had any time to really do anything

Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition
Got quite a bit done today although I'm still behind everyone else. I finished the Conquest maps for TA 3 and did the final Showdown as well. That got me to Olson and within 3 of Ramirez or something like that. I don't feel overly compelled to grind up to Carroll at this point, but the option is there if I want it and would probably be accomplished with some CPU on Rookie shenanigans.
With only a few days before the Season reset, I want to hop into Ranked so I can use Hank before he rotates but I just don't have the time. It took all I had to get to this point for Olson.
I knocked out the last bit of Topps Now to be caught up and then messed around with some Extreme moments. I haven't tackled this head on at all and only did the Piazza moment previously. I did end up getting the repeatable PXP mission twice already so figured I'd spend some time on the easier moments today. Knocked out the HR with Griffey on Legend, the 7 games with Wagner and the Adley moment to get up to Marte.
I added Marte to my main squad so I can start working on his mission. I think if I go after Griffey more directly it will be Mini Seasons or Conquest. I think taking the god squad into Conquest could be fun and the games look quicker than cycling through Mini Seasons menus. Not sure, though. I think the voucher payout for Mini Seasons actually makes it worth it. And you can attack it from different angles, playing on multiple difficulties to get the vouchers.
I didn't care to add Griffey at first, not because I don't like him but just because there's so many outfielders. But there's inevitably going to be an amazing 90's Boss Captain build to take into Ranked when all cards are legal and I feel like Griffey is a must-have there.
Going to be back to busy at work the next 5 days and won't have much time. I think when I do get time I'll just work on some of those CPU games for Extreme until the new season launches.
I'm almost banking some big XP gains for the season. I can grab the second Set 3 Choice Pack now and take Adley but I'm going to wait for the new season so the XP goes toward the new season program. I think I'm going to buy the 10 or so cards I need to get the second Set 1 pack as well as that will be 15k XP. Set 2 I'm like 30 cards away from the second pack, but I also still have the Father's Day and Future Stars programs not finished so there's a bunch of free cards there. I also didn't really grind any of TA 1 or 2 so there's a ton of free cards for the taking if I really want to do that.
I'm switching jobs so I should have more time to play than I've had probably in the last 13 years. With Starfield around the corner and BG 3 sitting on my desktop I'll probably spend a good amount of time there. But I think I'll have way more time to at least stay caught up on The Show moving forward and maybe enjoy the content a bit more as opposed to catching up and not having time to really use some cards I want to.Read my OS articles: https://www.operationsports.com/author/corydell/Comment

Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition
Fair warning - the Father’s Day program is up there with Mexico City in the contest for “most tedious grind” among all of the programs to date. I haven’t touched Extreme, but otherwise I’ve completed all the programs. Those two were brutal.
