Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition

i played a game of ranked last night and finished off the program and took 2 cards i thought looked fun to use .. that set 2 Ian Kinsler card and the set 5 Josh Lowe from the Rays , he has all the attributes and just seems like he could be a really fun card to use so at this point why not just try him out and see ..

im curious the kinda cards we will get who they will be for the new ranked ,Br and event and im assuming the reward path will just be all the old stuff repackaged ? i still want to play and try out new cards so we shall see how the week goes if we get any hints or clues at new players or not

Curious as to what you will think about that Kinsler, I liked his Set 4 card.

I have zero expectations for this week's content drops. I'm expecting nothing particularly interesting at this juncture....looking like the content team has moved onto '24 (where hopefully they are overhauling everything about the mode, lol).
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Honestly, I’m fine with not having much new content at this stage of the season.

For myself, it’s time to wrap up the remaining programs, play around with what I’ve earned, and maybe start an offline mode like Franchise. I’ll miss the stub earnings from the dead flipping market (so I’ll never get some cards that are still pricey) but otherwise I’m looking forward to just messing around for a little while.

I'm working on winning an award in Mini Seasons for my final trophy needed to platinum MLBTS23.

So did anyone else think with Season 6 you could use as many cards from previous sets that you wanted???

Man was I wrong.... Maybe I just don't know how to read very well.

I haven't booted up the game and probably won't but - isn't that what Season 6 was advertised to be?

If you're having an issue with your team not registering, delete it from your squad menu and generate a new best lineup then make the changes you want. There was a weird bug all year where each season would render your squad ineligible even if it was eligible.

Right, that is what I thought?? Maybe completely wrong.

I'm on xmas vacation so won't see the game till next Thursday but was hoping there would be a little something to do.

Wasn't expecting a new ta grind but was assuming some new br and event rewards. Even if they just threw the holiday bundle into programs opposed to just giving for free.

Only incentive I have now is to P5 guys or maybe I just play ranked a ton to try and get better. I found co-op much less stressful and u still get the 9 inning game so maybe I go back to that

After completing the Extreme Mini-Season, I was 2 points away from completing the Extreme program. I was planning to just wait to get another 25k PXP to close it out, but just for kicks I decided to give the Griffey moment a shot.

I never play above All Star difficulty, and am an offline-only DD player. It felt utterly hopeless. Until I somehow yanked a no-doubter into the Red Sox bullpen. Walked off the Extreme program. So satisfying!

Just working my way through the Forever program now, after which I’ll likely switch over to Franchise mode. Finally bought the Incognito Mantle for my God Squad, and am loving him so far.

I've been getting the itch to start a all time team run in ranked and use some captains if they really help the team or wont stop me from using the best players.

anyone have a team they think i should start with? i dont have all the cards but i have the majority im thinking maybe start with Baltimore or Texas just feel like they have great cards.

Just me, but I feel like Baltimore/Texas are a bit too obvious (which hey, if you want to do that, by all means). Arizona has a lot of depth, but no one stands-out to me as being "special".

I still really love the Pirates squad. I'd use the Gossage pitching captain - he has no other Pirates cards, so perfect there. I think you have options on the other captain, I'd probably lean Kendall. I just love the mix of offensive talent they have (though it does lean heavier towards contact guys vs raw power guys...may not be your jam).

My memory is hazy, but I remember liking messing around with the Tigers theme team - I know they have a good amount of pitching. The Twins are kind of weirdly interesting as well; a bit of a hodge podge of guys you wouldn't normally think of using; but it comes together pretty nicely IIRC.

You could also try out a "mixed" theme team (one team's hitting captain and another's pitching captain)...like an "All NY team" or an "All Ohio team"...stuff like that.

Thats a really good idea i like the Mixed team one .. and i like the Pirates as well and the Dbacks seem pretty complete as well .. i think AL teams would be the mariners or Tigers also ill try first
