Yeah got through the championship fine. Had a couple super sweaty games for being All-Star CPU games but got the Lefty Loosey run finished.

Not sure that Mulder makes a Ranked rotation but he'll be fun to use offline. Might take him for a spin in a Legend vs CPU game just to try him out.

FINALLY broke the drought on diamonds. Had the packs from Mini Seasons plus an extra standard pack and BIAH.

Things were looking pretty bleak through most of the packs and then I hit Carlos Rodon. He's inching closer to quick-sell so probably just going to keep him and the lower AL diamonds I might pull.

Then in the very next pack, I hit another diamond and once the reveal started I saw blue lights for the first time all year.

    Mookie.

I can collect him and finish the Dodgers right now and leave myself Goldy and Arenado to finish the Cardinals. Obviously early in the season but Mookie is off to a good start so I doubt he falls under 90 in the first update unless he goes 0-for over the next couple weeks. So selling for the stubs doesn't do much considering I want Sammy before focusing on Set 1.

So as of now, I'm about 180k away from Sammy. I'll be sitting around 120-130k once these sell orders go through so not far off from getting the NL done.

Definitely not starting another MS run for a bit. That Lefty one was a really fun change of pace but was still a grind. A welcomed grind, but still a grind.

Done for now since I have a training session in an hour. Order of operations next time I'm playing is probably:

-Legend vs CPU game to use Mulder
-Either hopping into the event or BR. Kinda wanna start ranked to use this team but I think I might wanna wait for Sammy to get going in Ranked.

Event ends Friday and I'm working 6 days this week. Have only played 6 games so would have to really focus on that to try and get the reward cards. First time in a couple years I probably won't have all the reward cards from the first event.

Just looked at the new Jazz map. Interesting that there really isn't an XP payout for the map. I know the XP reward path is basically the program now but there's just a couple hundred XP rewards. Obviously you'll get XP for playing the games in the map but still a little shocked.

Not a bad thing, per se. With the hidden rewards, even if scant, it's always worth playing through a CQ map for the total package. The fact that they made some of the pack rewards repeatable is really cool for offline players. It might not be the most exciting map, but a fairly quick way for offline players that don't want to spend money to grind some free packs is really cool.

As one of those offline players, I really appreciate this concept. I'll never get the online event rewards, but at least getting to grind through some of the other collections a little bit sooner/easier is something I really appreciate.

I got the silver thing in the program slot machine which was a bummer 7500 stubs.

I've had atleast 50 packs and not pulled a diamond over the past two days. Im lucky to just get a reds player since they're more expensive than alot of things

After Sammy I'm at 362k and trout, ohtani, judge and degrom alone are over 750... I'm hoping to get through the event quick and sell the rewards while they're still high but I'll work till midnight and don't know how many wins I can grind running on fumes.

I think I have 17 nations conquest games left... Does seem quicker and easier this year for some reason. Prob 80% overall done on team affinity. Only one more card until jazz

May sell Topps now on Friday if they seem inflated instead of rushing thru event cause that may be quicker. My plan now is pretty much do what needs to be done to finish collections then pretty much all cards become stubs and I can go ahead and just buy what I want

I got super lucky and got an additional boss pack from that last night. Between being able to sell that and getting Mookie from a pack the other day, I’m just Diaz and the expensive Reds bronzes away from Sosa.

Just checking in to say I started finally playing this week. I feel overwhelmed in a good way so just settled into my corner and did BR the last couple days rather than try to catch up on everything.

Been enjoying it and nearing the end of the program after getting the 30 hits and X amount of XP in one run last night.

I've sold all my boss players and it's a bummer cause I want to use all of the. I'm hoping by the time I finish collections they come down in price a bit and remain relevant

Forgot to mention I had finished two Mini Seasons, Lefty Loosey (wanted that Rodgers in the booster pack, plus Double M), and also 1 run of the TA Mini Season.

Half way through a Classic Mini Season as well, just mindless TA grinding etc.

Live Collections - Just need both the Angels, both Cardinals, and Mookie. We getting there!

This has been so laid back and fun. Legit as they said, just play the game. Co-Op Ranked has been awesome to play with my buds and grind innings. Some tweaks to this would be nice for player pep etc, but I'll take the free World Series Pack and cards along the way.

Re: What Are You Working On? - MLB The Show 23 Edition

I've completely lost interest in chasing all the new cards every week. I haven't purchased a premium pack, haven't bothered even starting the WBC stuff and aside from Captains, have sold every Set 1 card I got from the season XP thus far.

I've never been less motivated to "grind" DD than I have been this year. It's utterly pointless knowing that eventually Set 1 will "go away" and to be frank, I don't need a team full of 99s to enjoy the offline content. Without any sort of challenge mode (just time) or long-duration, card-specific grinds, there's absolutely no need to "power up".

When I DO play DD (which is going to be less and less as I get into my franchise), I think I am going to focus strictly on using my Core cards and collect the various Captains to create theme teams. I'll play the Conquest maps and Mini Seasons with my Core teams (at my own leisure) and that's probably about it.

I know most people are really enjoying all the stuff to do - but grinding just for the sake of grinding is just not interesting to me.

                    Edit:

I will say this though. I've actually been using a fairly static roster for Conquest (All Star series hitting theme/Veteran series pitching theme) the last week or so and that has been refreshing to garner an attachment to some guys. For example, I've grown to love Al Kaline (with the Harper captain Tier 3 boost) and I think I may try to PV him (I've never PV'd a position player since the parallel system came out). I'm just doing my own little thing and that's not a bad thing.

Got jazz today and will replace Mullins in left field for me... I generally haven't done well with jazz cards so I doubt he's a mainstay but will use him in event if eligible

60 or 70% done with nations but where im at I'm running out of capt henchmen to use and I feel like it's slowing the team affinity grind a little bit. 85% done with east/west then 60% with both central

Feel like my timing will be all jacked when this event starts after a week full of conquest and mini seasons

I sold the WBC Darvish I pulled last week to afford Diaz and finish the Mets and the rest of the NL and got Sosa. I played quite a bit of RS last night and actually maxed out the program. I’m not playing the best, but still having a bit of fun. I’m stuck at my mom’s house as I’m recovering from my surgeries and I bought a cheapish tv and Series S to play on, it’s definitely not as good of a setup as my OLED and Series X I have at my place. I’m hoping it’s just that, and I’m not just getting bad at the game. I did get a DeGrom out of one of the packs from the RS program, so I think I’m going to start using my stubs to work on the AL West next.

trout had a little dip in the market so I got the live series at 250k since he's the most expensive AL guy....seemed like judge, degrom didn't really have the same dip

maybe that saves me about 20k but back down to 132k, hopefully I can finally get a pull that's worth something

Knocked out the Braves map and merrily equipped everything from it. Love the City Connect jerseys and will most likely rock them all year. Even the icon and nameplate are dope so all decked out.

Got 2 of the eggs just from playing without worrying too much about them. Doesn't look like everything is solved yet but I think this is a really cool idea and just another example of SDS bringing some freshness to DD.

Went through my inventory and sold off all my dupes, random items I didn't already quick-sell and off-loaded a fair amount of AL stuff to buy Arenado and Goldy. Then realized that Motter and Walker got added so paid way more for bronzes than I'd care to admit but finished the Cardinals.

                            Sammy Sosa is mine.

Slotted him in CF with Ronnie in LF and Hank in RF for now. Have him hitting second behind Ronnie.

So stoked to use Sammy. Have a little bit of the Jazz map to finish then hopefully I'll have some time to grind this event. I want that Sheffield for DH. But also want to start Ranked now that I have Sammy.

Having a blast with the game so far this year.

My pci is all jittery every now and then when hitting and it's super distracting. Can this be cleaned or do I just need to get another?

Is it when runners are in scoring position? My controller on the PS4 pulses like a heartbeat when in those situations, so it might be a feature instead of a controller problem.
